I've owned a 2018 Ram Ecodiesel since its purchase in 2018, and everything was running smoothly until 2019 when the dealer performed a computer update related to emission system settlements. Following this update, my truck has been a frequent visitor to the dealership due to persistent emission system problems. Over three years of ownership, virtually everything in my truck has been replaced, including the engine, transmission, two DPF filters, and numerous other emission system components. Thanks to the extended maxprotection from Chrysler, these issues were patched up until I surpassed 100K miles.

Now, despite these replacements, the engine has failed again with the same crankshaft bearing problem as the initial issue. However, Chrysler has refused to honor the warranty for this recurring problem. I suspect that when I purchased the truck in 2018 and throughout these years, Chrysler was aware of these issues with Ecodiesel engines but continued to sell them across the United States without warning new owners about the engine defects.

This situation feels like a massive scam and raises serious concerns about Chrysler's transparency regarding these known engine defects

After extensive research, it's clear that Ram trucks are experiencing a decline in reliability. Many owners report encountering major issues with their Rams before reaching 100,000 miles.
