Hello all. Im new to this forum. I recently bought a Ram 1500 ecodiesel with 79000 miles on it. Should I be running an oil additive like Lucas to it? I live in Michigan where it gets snowy and very cold. If this is already discussed I apologize. I just want to take care of the truck.

Timely oil changes with an oil that meets the ecodiesel spec should be fine. You might think about fuel additive in the winter though.

I've used HotShots Stiction eliminator & HotShots FR3, some say we don't need the stiction eliminator , but I tend to disagree as stiction can and will occur in turbo bearings as well. I'm using Hotshots EDT & LX4 in my fuel as well as HotShots EXTREME every 6 months. Lab tests have shown OPTILUBE XPD to be the best with HOTSHOTS EDT a close 2nd. I'm just doing all I can to preserve the CP4 pump.

Thanks CAVEMANN, I will be checking availability of products at my local auto store. Concensus is that I definitely need to add something. For the winter.
