Hey guys I need some help figuring out what is wrong with my 2016 eco diesel it is overheating and if I open the drain for the radiator it is cold I took off the thermostat already thinking it was the cause of it but I drove around a little bit and same thing the top radiator hose was very hard and the drain from the radiator was cold need some help to figure out the problem

It would help if you gave an "overheating" coolant temperature number and the conditions during the overheating. The coolant temp gauge does not measure the coolant temp, it is an algorithm number derived from certain engine factors.

I have seen some high temps as you have. In every case it was climbing grades at 75-85 mph, they hit 240-250 degrees and quickly dropped when I let off the RPMs. And, like yours, the coolant was not overheating.

Does the cooling system pressurize/top hose harden up right after engine startup?
