Eco diesel with sootsensor

Hi I'm new to this group, I have a 2016 Dodge Ram Eco diesel and had a malfunctioning sensor last year that left me stranded until I could get in to a local dealership to perform a manual regeneration and replacement of 2 sensors. Prior to I had removed the EGR and cleaned it up as there was a lot of soot buildup. I have since done a DPF delete and question is, would the system have cleaned the soot during regeneration? Possibly not, should I have this cleaned by taking off manifold or leave it and possibly rely on some type of cleaner I could use? I'm nervous about this and would like to get others expert opinion on what to do Would it clean itself overtime or should I move forward with an EGR delete as well? Help...Truck has 99000 Kms and doesn't show any issues at this time. Thanks for any help as this is new to me and I have no knowledge of diesel engines.

If you did a dpf delete then most likely your egr is non operational

Oh, OK, thanks for your reply, the EGR delete was another 700 so I just went with the dpf for now.

What brand is your tune? Typically when you lose dpf you lose egr as the system is hand in hand. If you unplug the two plugs on egr, and start the engine, that will tell you if it’s operating or not by an instant check engine light. You can buy the diffuser delete plates pretty cheap and leave egr in place just abandoned

I'm not sure, done by a local garage that are known for tuning and deleting, I wanted to call them back and will on Monday, owner said he didn't delete egr on his so I went along, but seeing the horror stories here and on eco diesel sites of soot and carbon buildup it has me nervous now that I didn't get that done as well. I will try disconnecting the egr plug as you suggested when i get over covid to see if that works. Would egr deletion require another tune?

My guess is the tune took care of egr operation as I’m unaware of any tune, other than a cali compliant tune that would do that. Try unplugging it and if no codes pop up it’s off and your safe!
