EGR Maintenance - EGR Delete and Tune

I am brand new to this forum and want to use it to help me with my truck. Certainly hoping for any and all input. I have had so many issues with my truck, to the point that I had to have a new manifold installed because the "junk" or "soot" that built up inside it melted literally hundreds of little holes in the shitty plastic manifold. I bought this truck because a friend told me about the amazing fuel milage and at first I was getting close to 30 mpg. But after a 4" lift kit and larger tires, that went down significantly. I recently started getting a lot of lugging and at idle it sounded like crap. I found a YouTube video about cleaning the diffuser tube and the Mass Air Flow sensor and I did that with relative ease and the amount of soot build up on both of those parts was incredible. Simple non-chlorinated brake cleaner did the job. And once back together, it ran like new. I am excited to see if it improves the fuel milage. I will now try to do this every 12-15k miles as a standard maintenance. So onto my questions for you all...
Does anyone here have experience with a Tuner Depot EGR Delete kit and their Black Bandit's Iron Loader EGR Delete/Tune kit? It's not cheap but if it will save my engine from the absorbent amount of CRAP getting pushed through it, it will be worth it.

EGR delete and tune can help reduce the soot buildup and might improve performance. However, I would say caution with such modifications, especially if you are in a region with strict emissions regulations. EGR and DPF systems are designed to meet legal standards, and tampering with them could result in hefty fines or voided warranties. From my experience, while an EGR delete may give you short-term gains in performance, it could lead to long-term reliability issues and potential legal trouble. If you do go for it, make sure you have a trusted mechanic who knows the ins and outs of such modifications. Best wishes.

I have no experience with Tuner Depot but can say if you want to turn off the EGR the GDE compliant tune does not do that. I'm running the MRT, via EOC, stage 1 tune that shuts off the EGR. It has a handheld device that allows you to select their 20hp or 40hp tune or change back to the OEM tune for dealer visits. Whatever route you go I suggest you also get the Transmission tune.

I have an auto agent tune from Dyno diesel and it’s been awesome. Feel like I have life in my truck again.

I had mine deleted and tuned about 2 years ago, best thing I ever did, more power, no def, runs cooler, no soot or regen nonsense. Wish I had done it day one. I bought it new in 2016, and it has 215k on it now.
