EGR

Im not an EGRologist but when starts running like crap, then the EGR plugged with crud. Whats your mileage?

I'm in Florida, so I'm sure temperature plays a role in maintenance schedule. You have 80,000 miles. You 👌🏻 for a while. Look into using various cleaners now to clear some of the spooge. 👍🏻.
