They told me at first that they had no ETA. Then about 3 weeks later they started to give me delivery dates to the shop. And every time it was pushed out two days or 3 days. And then one day he called and said it shipped from Michigan. They got the engine in on Friday they removed the cab on Friday. An engine was in and installed and delivered to me on Thursday. It was done at the dealer. I just hope it works!
Well I hope you get to drive it soon!

Yep. I drove it Thursday and Friday. It seems like the same truck. I went camping this weekend and since the engine is so new I decided not to pull my camper up the mountain with it I used a 2005 Ford expedition with 200,000 miles on it instead. 🙂

I had a 2006 Laramie with a Hemi. 4 speed with overdrive? I tow a camper too. This motor (EcoDiesel)towed so much better until.. I bought it with 44k miles. Put 30k on on less than a year.
If your vehicle had the emission recall done in 2019 it would have a 125,000, 8 year warranty provided by FCA And a 48 month 48,000 mile warranty as well. Check your VIN.

You're a little off with your numbers:

The extended warranty period is the greater of (i) 10 years from the date of initial sale or 120,000 actual miles on the vehicle odometer, whichever comes first; and (ii) 4 years or 48,000 miles from the date and mileage of installing the Approved Emissions Modification on the vehicle, whichever comes first.

Either way, the vehicle should be under warranty I’d think.

I am not repeat not an experienced eco owner..I am old enough to try to help as i just went thru an eco swap-build .I have built many engines, from early 265 chevy,s to 440 mopars to 471 detroits, mostly well modified...had to have a dohc diesel.. A good buddy also ex navy fighter driver ex navy fighter types who survived the early days of supersonic carrier accidents...have a tight bond.. He wanted to buy his brothers truck an eco 15 model with 148 on it.. I strongly advised him not to ..Not because of how I feel after my build....I really like this truck, With all deleted it has a lot more punch than I ever expected and my wife,s ride is an ss chevy-aka holden that has a 6.2 L3 in it. so I am quite familiar with real performance.
What I have found is the great unknown ...will my 2020 gen 3 engine WITH all deletes last??? I know how to build and take care of an engine but cannot know how long this gen 3 will last? Yes they did a lot to the Gen 3 but there are still bottom end failures at fairly low miles where I do not think carbon is the issue..To me it is a krapshoot ,I have an 8000 mile gen 3 with no carbon in it-pan is spotless-egr gone-catch can in return from crancase,, dpf gone.. Will it last? I have done all I know how to do to remove known issues...but who knows...
Sooo I told my buddy do not get involved..
Knowing how well some repeat some of these deleted trucks last,,,I think I have the best chance of it working,, But who knows?
The truck I started with was bone stock a 2014 creampuff that had 199K on it and just started showing metal in the filter..it was running fine no codes.
The owner loved the truck, had done all oil changes himself.
Advice is cheap...but the advisor is not paying the bill you are..
If you put in any engine please get an ironclad warranty that really covers you...
Putting a gen 3 into a gen 2 is not easy or cheap and even then there are no guarantees that the gen 3 will solve all the issues..
I have just done that and am not confident that i am bulletproof..and remember I have removed all the normal issue causing components..
I went to engineering school and have built and seen a lot of engine bottom ends...To me it looks like Vm in the eco bottom end could have eliminated a ton of issues by adding another 3/8" to all the bearing widths it looks like they increased the diameters to offset the width problem BUT .. With the extreme boost pressues I see a lot of tear downs showing high wear in bearings so their "fix"fell short. The radius in the gen 3 journals indicates they tried a touchup but not a real cure..,,,I have never seen wear like that in all the engines I built. And i built a lot of high milage engines. Of course the carbon floating around in the oil plus the boost pressure??? not a great combo
I will drive this truck with an eye on keeping lugging /heavy loads off the truck..
