I'm posting in this forum as this forum has much more information on the failure of the EGR Cooler.
I have a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Eco Diesel. My car has been sitting in a parking lot at a dealership since November 3, 2019 in Oregon, 700 miles away from my home, after my EGR Cooler failed while on vacation. I was in 3 different Jeep dealerships in Oregon during our vacation. First dealer claimed it was a cracked radiator and hose clamp, 5 days later got the car back drove it for a day, the next day heading to Eugene 3 miles into our trip white smoke started pouring out of the tailpipes, tow to Eugene 2nd dealer claimed it was a loose hose clamp. We didn't trust that it was repaired so we checked the coolant for 60 miles as we headed south. We were correct in our concern, the coolant went from maximum to minimum in that time period. Pulled into the 3rd dealer with the hopes of buying enough coolant to make the 700 mile journey home, they diagnosed it as failure of the EGR Cooler with an unknown time for the delivery of the part. My understanding is they are redesigning the part, then they'll have to manufacture it before they can ship it.
FCA has been absolutely no help with a rental car or getting us and our cargo trailer home from Oregon. I have a paper trail of e-mails from FCA, I've also contacted the attorney for the class action lawsuit and was told I should have a rental car. Last I spoke with her she was out of the office for the holidays, so hopefully I'll get some news in the next week.
For some reason my Vin# has yet to be placed in the EGR recall, the attorney for the class action lawsuit said that it is in the recall.
