So, I guess my thoughts of just removing the stock muffler and replacing it with a low restriction muffler is not a reality?

Now they offer the scorcher hd which gives double what they offered before, sounds like fun but I think cold air and filter back exhaust is the craziest I get for now.

Gotcha. I know you are correct. I am willing but the wife usually is not. I am also known to be "cheap"!!If you're not happy with the performance and looking for a tune than spend the money and get the ecu programmed, don't risk it with a piggyback tuner.
i have one it takes the turbo lag out and increases the milage a little considering a GDE tune been having trouble with soot and oil in intake I bought mine for 90.00 cdn
