Just bought my first Ram ecodiesel after owning Hondas for 20 years. Love it so far. Still can't believe that I get 30 mpg out of a full size truck.

Gaskets on the water pump and thermostat aren't very big deals, it's a lot better fate than most issues, and with a lift you're obviously going to lose MPG beyond epa rating, as with traveling 75-80mph. No vehicle gets ideal economy at that speed. Aggressive tires lost me near 5mpg alone, and I was only seeing 22-24 with a 6'4box 4wd crew. It still beats any gas pickup and I knew what I was doing

Yes you make all exelent points. Over all so far I am pleased with this truck. I love the way it performs off-road with that low idle quiet and torque. My first diesel and yet the great economy for the size this is the one for me! Has any one else had issues with these coolant o ring gadgets? I'm still waiting for parts 2 weeks? My mechanic says it's difficulty identifying correct ones I don't know if that's his father the dealer?
