After 12 hours on the road leaving the Smokies at 7:30am and on I-95 around 7:30pm at Fort Pierce, FL 2 miles N of Okeechobee my truck engine light came on so stopped saw smoke opened the hood saw a fire!!. Truck and RV totaled. I have done every recall and have always completed service on time for my 2014 Laramie Longhorn. Any advice?

My original EGR was replaced after doing the AEM software update for a recall for cracks that may cause an engine fire. The service advisor mentioned that an updated EGR was available in April when I brought it for service. The latest AEM software update was added. My engine light came on a day after being serviced. I always worried about the engine fire issue. I have done all the recalls and AEM software updates. I hear that a new class action lawsuit because of the EGR.
FCA will not be of any help as they will tell you it’s an Insurance claim.

Not sure at this moment but it burned Friday night. The insurance company I have is working on and asked for FCA adjuster to take a look at the truck to determine its cause for fire. I believe it is the egr malfunction especially since the dealer repaired that recall 30 days ago.my truck had 20 recall since I owned it. Any suggestions?8

The plenum is the source for the fire or the Turbo, FCA recalling only the EGR will only prolong the eventual Fire. The fires are not random they happen in all years and even some deleted fires cause by the turbo, Mike cut you losses and buy gas Ram..There's a member here were his replacement went up in flames, Some are on 3RD 3.0VM engine.

We are NOW in its just not safe to own any VM3.0 in Ram or Jeep.
