added some def blue to my 2015 1500 ecodiesel after about 30 km dash reading incorrect def now reading will shut down in in 310 km see dealer any body with this problem
there are reports of people buying DEF at Walmart, using it, refilling the container with water and returning it to the store for a refund.
There is no incorrect DEF. Def is DEF. That said, DEF comes at 32.5-33% urea and can deteriorate and throw that message when it gets to 22%. It sounds like the DEF you used was old and below 22% Or as some have posted, there are reports of people buying DEF at Walmart, using it, refilling the container with water and returning it to the store for a refund. Or, maybe your sensor has gone bad. Or ???
TC.John 2017 and earlier Have a common sensor ,it's only capable of detecting Urea/Nitrogen. So you can run ratio's to 5% Urea/Nitrogen to 95% Dist/DIO water. I ran My 2015, down to that level its entire life I owned My 2015 4.25 Years. 2018+ have quality sensor so 22%+ is needed... 1000s of DEF Truck owners (IMO) have now caught on to this and run much lower ratio's, My 2013 6.7 Cummins has run those level's its entire 10 Years of life and still going strong without 1 issue.. other than I kept dumping Distilled Water in the tank for over 12 Months, When I check the Ratio it was 98% Water / 2% Urea/Nitrogen, it triggered a rationale code, I added 2 Gallons of DEF deleted the code and all's been well for over 13 months.
Self destructOK... just say close to 22%....... Did you get the self destruct code or rationale code?
