Just a question on echo diesel engine dash light.

If the little yellow engine light comes on. Could it be serious if the engine oil is right up and the engine sounds fine?

It could mean many different things...a bad sensor or any number or things. Most parts stores like Advance Auto, Autozone, etc will read the OBD codes for free.
