I have a 15 longhorn and every once in a while it will bug out and not read the key fob. Usually cycling the key setting does the trick but sometimes I need to hop out and take it out of my pocket then it's fine. Doesn't happen enough to really bother me though. But it does happen

Just out of curiosity, do you have a Samsumg phone? Ram says they are having some issues with this and Samsung phones. Thank you for your reply.

Yeah I do. Not the kind that blow up though.

I'm not entirely sure that I can blame the phone. They're frequently together (in the same pocket) with the keys and fine. And it happens just the same with the phone away from the keys

I just think every now and then they glitch a little and it's not a big deal.

I am posting some pictures. I was at walgreens drive thru and could not start the truck. I handed the girl the fob and she started it 10 feet away.

I have a whole phone full of pictures. I just posted a few. I wish someone from Ram would speak to this.

Here are a couple of my favorites of it being driven without a key. Or at least that is what the dash says.

Stupid idea but take that chipped key off your key chain and try. Also a new battery?

Otherwise just have ram Warranty your key fob and you should be in business

Yes, Yes and yes. Been there and 4 new batteries since June 3. They started blaming the Mopar EVTS but after my 3rd one, Star said that is not the issue. Then they came up with the battery voltage being under 3.2 volts. The dealer had to go thru 6 batteries to find one brand new that was 3.2 volts. I called Duracell and was told the battery new is only 3.15 volts. Now I am being told the Samsung phone is the culprit and it is in ecodiesel only. Have asked several times for a meeting with zone rep. Hope to have next week.

They said the canbus (hope I spelled it right) can be affected by Samsung phones on diesels. Tried for several days and it was better but it still did it twice.

This happens with both of your key fobs? Have they warrantied and replaced a fob yet?

Or can they only afford to Warranty 6 batteries? Sorry but it's pretty ridiculous on a $60,000 truck

1 at a time. 2nd one being replaced right now. Has happened on all keyfob. Do not know if it is related but 2 things. Uconnect does not and has not worked properly. Nav locks up and says turn right in 50 feet for 21 miles. you are constantly having to reregister for uconnect. have done several times at dealership.

I agree. My family is not at home. My new family is at the dealership. Went to order a 2017 limited, thinking I can get rid of problem, but you can't order an ecodiesel at this time. There is not one in the U.S.

Maybe this is the issue they are addressing and why there is a delay.

That's awful. I have 36k on my 15' longhorn and I've never had such issues. Nav works fine when I use it. Never reset uConnect.

I'm thinking your truck has a bad Body control module. Shorting the GPS, and entertainment system. And sensor key issues. It sounds rather fitting. If it was just the key it'd be another story. That would be solved replacing the truck side proximity sending unit. But other electrical bugs? I say the brain box

Not to change the subject, but does anyone know the scoop on the '17s? I'm guessing it's possibly in regard to engine failures? Or possibly having to re-certify their mileage claims since the change in oil spec? Whatever the reason in the delay, it would be awful interesting to know.

That second reason is a rather fitting thought. There's no way 5w40 hasn't effected our mileage and that means all new EPA numbers. It also means that just like Chevy did they have to make a settlement with every single ecodiesel owner for the dropped figures just as Chevy had to do last year when they had the window sticker typo on I believe it was the traverse.

And yes this means every single ecodiesel owner. Because they backdated the oil spec change over every single model year.

I was told engineering issues. I have changed to the Rotella (did I have a choice) and there is a definite mileage loss.

I'm wondering what Pennzoil is going to do with their euro crap? They must have tens of thousands of gallons of the stuff in storage and now no USA market!!! Uh oh!!!

One other thing, I think the MPG hit comes more from the pcm flash for the transmission Shift points and higher rpm cruise requirements than it does from the oil viscosity. If not more than at least equal parts
