Well last Thursday I received in the mail from FCA a Approved Emissions Modification notification. On Friday I went to my dealer to ask about it and the service manager knew nothing about it. He took it to his manager and he had the deer in the headlights look. They then tried to tell me that it was a FYI notice from FCA. I said that is not what the document states. It said in short is that the original upgrade had complaints and to correct them they came up with a new software update approved in December 2019. Well just by coincidence the diesel technician came through and the manger had him read it and he read it as I did stating there is another update. He said let's plug it in and find out if there is a red flag. Sure enough it showed a notification for the new software update. Today I had the update installed and the big lag seems to be gone and shift parameters are much better. I will know more on a ice cold start which was the worse condition for the lag and see if my fuel mileage comes back. I guess filing a complaint with the Feds might have helped.
So all you eco people look for the letter for the upgrade and do not let your dealership tell you it is nothing because they do not know about the software update as of today!!!
