Well last Thursday I received in the mail from FCA a Approved Emissions Modification notification. On Friday I went to my dealer to ask about it and the service manager knew nothing about it. He took it to his manager and he had the deer in the headlights look. They then tried to tell me that it was a FYI notice from FCA. I said that is not what the document states. It said in short is that the original upgrade had complaints and to correct them they came up with a new software update approved in December 2019. Well just by coincidence the diesel technician came through and the manger had him read it and he read it as I did stating there is another update. He said let's plug it in and find out if there is a red flag. Sure enough it showed a notification for the new software update. Today I had the update installed and the big lag seems to be gone and shift parameters are much better. I will know more on a ice cold start which was the worse condition for the lag and see if my fuel mileage comes back. I guess filing a complaint with the Feds might have helped.

So all you eco people look for the letter for the upgrade and do not let your dealership tell you it is nothing because they do not know about the software update as of today!!!

WOW, that's a surprise. Its common place to have updates addressing Software, and just think People consider Dealership Service dept knowledgeable and up to date. Good for You 3js for standing your ground.(y)

We got our update recall this week. It is notable that FCA downplayed the number of complaints and the severity of the issue. It is good to hear that someone has had a positive result to an updated AEM. No we will not be participating.

Do you know if it is vin specific or if it’s everyone and could we get a picture of the paper stating a new update.
Thanks

I will attempt to attach a file scan of my letter, like I stated my wife's Jeep GC eco and my RAM both have the 2nd recall notice on the same day.

Glad to hear about another update as the first one produced lag and changed the transmission so that it seems to be in tow / haul mode any time i have a trailer connected. I have been to Florida and back 7 times now and this trip that ended yesterday saw only 12 mpg towing an ultra lite camper. I have gotten 14 to 15 on all trips before the emissions update while towing. This trip the transmission rarely went to 8th as if I had tow / haul engaged even though it wasn't.
