We have a 2014 1500 EcoDiesel that is currently in dealership shop due to Throttle Control warning light coming on. We are waiting for diagnostic results as it went Into reduced power and we were 2 and half hours from home. Had to get rental car and are now waiting for call about issues. From reading nightmare Eco Diesel posts I believe we will do Lemon buy back option. We bought it as a previous owner return to dealership as a reconditioned truck . We can't afford to pay for expensive repairs and being stranded during travel .

The throttle control issue is pretty easy to fix, but it gets pretty complex at a dealership. It seems to be caused almost all the time by a dirty MAP sensor and clogged EGR diffuser tube. Dealers chase their tail with it though and do lots of (expensive) things.

Its up to you if you are able to do your own work or not. If its me, I bring it home and clean the MAP sensor and EGR diffuser tube. I don't know how you get the dealer to do a lemon buy back. Is it Carmax or Carvana or something?

Welcome! Hopefully the dealer can get you on the road. If you're out of warranty and don't want to risk repair, I would sell it or trade it in.
We are entertaining the idea of getting a newer used vehicle....not sure what yet as option.

Thank you for suggestions. We would not feel comfortable as DIY mechanics ..lol
We bought this Ram as a used buy back with low mileage at a local dealership with full warranty on it. If we pursue a lemon buy back it will be with the dealership we purchased it from. We went there on our way back home and they have at least 8-10 Ram Eco Diesel 1500 on their lot listed as " reconditioned" buy back trucks for sale. Makes us say .....lots of unhappy customers here in our area . Hope to hear from dealership tomorrow ... They are 2 and half hours from where we live. Stay tuned 😉

People who drive 80% highway are very happy. Those who do 80% city driving are either unhappy or have a tune on their truck. The GDE or Sofakingtune gets rid of most problems but not everyone wants to go that route.

Re driving habits ....we are 80 hwy and 20 city ... Got good news regarding loss of get up and go problem. The Map Sensor cleaned and or replaced and Air filter to Turbo clogged and replaced. Cost for work under $100 bucks. Picking up Thursday due to commitments here keeping us from going sooner. I sure hope this means trouble free driving 😬💜. They also did Emissions Recall update and from Forum posts I hope it does not affect performance of our Ram 😁

You should be good. Clean that MAP sensor and EGR tube like the dealer did every 3 months or when you do an oil change. The MAP sensor is not all that sensitive to filth on it, but being essentially a barometer it needs to be able to sense atmospheric pressure. It can't do that if it is under 1/4" of muck.
