oil change issues

Tuesday I took my 2017 ecodiesel down to the local dealership for an oil change, tire rotation and to check the battery because I thought it was bad (only 25,000 miles.) they ended up keeping it for 24 hours to do a battery test, said it was bad and replaced it. They called me the next day that everything was done and I could pick up my truck.

the next day it dings that I need to change my oil. I pull over and check it - sure enough dark and dirty! I call, raise a fit and take it back in.

Now its Friday, they rush it through and change the oil in 45 minutes, I am happy again! I drove about 120 miles Friday.

Saturday - I decided to pull my EGR to see how dirty it is. while I am at it, I check the dip stick just because why not? AAANNNND it is still black as ever! see attached photos. the oil soaks immediately into a cloth.

before I drive down there and raise holy hell, is there something I should know about ecodiesels and black oil? is the soot in the motor somehow making it black immediately? I really doubt it but trying to give them the benefit....

oh and check out my EGR! only 25,000 easy city miles.

I am trying to get the pictures off my phone and then I will load them.

The oil in my 353 Detroit stays cleaner than the oil in my eco......probably because of the emissions on the eco.

All diesels have black oil 50 miles after oil change, has little to do with EGR, they did this long before EGR was invented, just service it when it is required and don't worry about it
