Hello all, I just changed oil and filter, now I get a low oil pressure message. I used Pennzoil platinum Euro 5w-40 full synthetic. stick reads full, about 50 miles on oil change, 42,000 on a 2021 eco-diesel. Any thoughts?

The only oil I would use is rotella t6, 5-40. When I bought my 2016 there was a service bulletin to remove the euro oil and replace it it with rotella. They thought that was the issue with crank bearings. So that's all I use

I have heard that here a few times. But on the other side, people say that an oil that doesn't spell out the ms 12991 would void any warranty protection. Id like to ask the dealer, but Im thinking they would say only their Mopar oil will do (at 13.50/qt).

Yes Rotella is correct for a GEN 2 ecodiesel
Gen 3 No

Mine's a gen 2, I run Rotella T6 15w40. I know 5w40 was the recommended, but I live in a place that's quite hot a lot of the year and the little thicker is just my peace-of-mind.
Strangely enough, I've seen a lot of people use Pennzoil 5w40 Full Synthetic "European Blend" which has different additives than Rotella. I'd imagine what's good for a Gen 3 should be good for a Gen 2, but I have no reason to make any changes.

As for your low oil pressure, I'd drop the "lower pan" and check the pickup tube. I'm getting ready to record a video on this very procedure after seeing a few of my friends with these pasta-diesels find "Soot rocks" clogging up the pickup screen. Cleaning that screen makes a world of difference.

Just thought I'd add, the Mopar oil is supposed to be rotella also. That's what the dealer told me the one time I had him change it.
