Good day everyone

Last Feb we had a massive freeze and it wreaked havoc on my ED. Froze battery, gelled fuel, cracked my fuel filter housing...made a mess.

Could not get a factory fuel filter assembly in reasonable time so we installed a FASS to replace the factory assmebly/lift pump. Worked like a charm for last 4.5 months.

Last week the truck thru a p016f and U0422 code flashing throttle control service/low oil pressure and causing the truck stop running.

So I tried to restart but the truck appears to have lost prime. I popped the fuel line under hood and reprised then the truck started like it never happened. No code showing on the dash CEL gone.

This has now happened 2x in that's 2500kms. Shop is stumped. FASS is stumped.

Truck has full delete for last 120000kms. Has ran its entire life without issue not even emissions issue. Been amazing till this...

Any help or insight is appreciated.

The shop feels the FASS pump is losing pressure. They attaches a pressure gauge to the line after the pump and are seeing a min 6 psi pressure loss...they think it's enough to cause my truck to lose prime, through a p016f and u0422 soft code.

The shop has triple checked their installation. They say their install is 110% perfect.

Problem solved after triple check install test run. Found a fitting on top of fuel tank that was allowing air into system. Fixed issue, retested with pressure guage no more drop in pressure runs a constant psi.

Haha! Wow sorry there weren't any responses. Glad you got it figured out. FASS is a very common aftermarket install so this could certainly help someone out in the future. As I was reading along I was going to guess a drain back issue, but the loose fitting also makes sense. Glad it's all better! How much do you love it after the delete?

The truck was great before the delete and is still great after full delete.

The FASS has been great minus a couple fittings come loose...but that's instal vs FASS issue. The tech being gentle on the tightening of them.

Right now I am putting about 1000kms per week (620 miles) and hunting season starts in 5 days...my truck will have 285000kms by Christmas.

Well back again....you truck has 278500kms. It failed again. Lost fuel pressure and died. I had to pop the feed line off and prime the system again then restart the truck....

This the 3rd time since the FASS was installed. I have become friends with the tech who did the original install and double check...he is stumped.

I am not happy as a winter storm is hitting us with 65mph winds.

Anyone else have this experience.

Yeah...I am not sure why the system is losing pressure. All I can tell u is it's darn annoying...right now 270k without any real issues and have been chasing this issue since this past spring...
