Hey guys, sorry for the long post. im a first time poster on here i come from the VW/Audi world. a little history on me, i live in toronto canada and my 2 toys are an MK6 GTI and 8P Audi A3 and for everything else a 2014 ram ecodiesel.
the ecodiesel was bought at auction 2 years ago and now has 310,000kms on it (192,625 miles) i sorted through it and fixed a lot of issues and its been a great truck i only have 1 code left and i cant get rid of it and its especially annoying because with a check engine i cant remote start the truck in this crazy cold temp.
the fault that i have is P2021 (Intake Manf runner position Sensor/Switch circuit low bank2) and i dont know what to change. my regular mechanic for my VW & Audi hates working on this thing since a stuck glow plug issue i had. i really want to solve this code, so far he has done a intake runner valve adaptations/re-calibration and made sure everything is plugged in and visually okay.
he's not super familiar with dodge ecodiesels just vw diesels and he thinks its a sensor issue. he called it an "intake throttle valve". he told me its best i take it to a dealer or ecodiesel specialist but i want to see if i can fix it myself with some help from you guys. what is a "intake throttle valve"? is he referring to the EGR or MAF?
i also read about an intake swirl valve actuator. the explanation of that part seems the closest to what my mechanic was talking about, where is this located and is it easy to remove/replace?
has anyone had this code before? thanks in advance
