Hi everyone I am new here not sure if I'm aloud because I don't have a Ram but I do have a 2015 jeep grand Cherokee limited eco diesel. I have been told that it is the same motor as the ram 1500 eco diesel. Can anyone confirm that? If so I have been having some issues that I would love to get some feed back on.

I had a 2014 ED RAM 1500. I’d dump the EC as soon as possible. Mine spent 9 months at the dealership and even the FCA engineers couldn’t find the problems. They finally replaced over $7,000 in engine and fuel line parts to get me back on the road. This was all under the extended warranty give to ED owners of 2014 EDs.

If you don’t have the extended warranty you’re looking at a huge repair bill or even worse a complete engine replacement to the tune of $15,000+. The extended warranty only covers the top end of your engine. If the lower portion of the engine goes bad and they will, you’ll be on the hook for engine replacement. FCA dealerships won’t repair, only replace. Get out while you can. I bought a 2022 with the Hemi gas engine. Operating cost is about the same when you consider the higher cost of diesel fuel and the cost of the DEF required versus the lower gas mileage of the Hemi engine. Performance is almost the same.
