Took my black beauty to Discount Tires to get the tires balanced and rotated like I’ve done for years. After getting her back, I get a “Service 4WD” message. I pull the code and it reads C140D (Transfer Case Motor Control Circuit Open - Active). As a pessimist, I suspect this isn’t a coincidence, but I’m not exactly sure how Discount Tires could have screwed this up.

1) has anyone else experienced this?
2) is it covered under the power train warranty?

Yes, sir—I cleared the code several times and it came back within seconds.

Gonna check on that large plug...
