Warranty coverage ECM/PCM

Dealer states the PCM has an internal failure and quoted $1,800 for the repair. I see on the extended emissions warranty for my 2016 that the ECM and TCM are both covered. From what I understand the terms PCM and ECM are frequently used interchangeably. Should this repair be covered?

Waste of time talking to corporate. They have no idea of the vehicle issues. They are not mech inclined what so ever. All they know is to says no to everything.

I asked the individual at the other end if they knew what I was referring to in mech terms. Not a clue.

Glad it worked out for you. I had so many emissions failures it drove me crazy. Purchased truck new. After 4 years everything started to fail. Only 150,000 kms mint truck. Lemon after that. Finally traded in for a Tacoma. No more Stalantis for me. Lost too much on that purchase. I was intending to kerp it for another 10 years. Like i said, mint condition. Cannit drive a shell if a truck with no engine. The other big issue, not a lot if mechs know how to fix them. A lot of misdiagnosis. Sensors are outrageously priced. $1000 - $3000. There are 4 sensors in the front manifold pipe. Now i drive in peace.

Please correct me if Im wrong. Im 58 years old and have covered many many miles in and on various vehicles. I have always been under the impression that the repair facility gets paid the same amount whether the owner pays the shop or the warranty company does.

Warranty is generally much Less, Techs that know what they are doing and working on do OK on warranty ( Factory )
