Got a little tail gate assist going. Took all of 15 mins and cost only $28.

The gate assist is from DeeZee. The part number on this one states it's good on Ram's to 2013. It's actually good to 2015.

Very few tools needed. There is a factor hole in the bottom left side of the tailgate that one of the mounting balls attaches to and you have to remove the top cable bolt and slip on the second mount under it and reattach. Once the two ball mounts are attach you just pop the strut on.

There is no resistance putting the tailgate up but just pull the handle and let go and the strut slowly lowers the tailgate on its own.

I recommend the assist and this one in particular from DeeZee.

Since I work out of town, I don't get to do much to the EcoDiesel during the week, but my daily driver is a Jetta diesel so I get my "diesel" fix! :)

Hey boostN, do you do anything special with your truck? I've heard it's not so good to let'em sit. Do you take it out for drives to make sure it's driven? Or is that more of an urban legend type thing?

I don't really have a choice. I'm not around..and even then it's not every weekend I see it. I think if you use it every few weeks everything is ok.

Taking what is hopefully the last load of garbage to the dump.

Amazing how much crap we've accumulated over the years:confused:

Took her on a trip to the zoo with my zoo of a family. 120 mile round trip, 25.1 mpg. This truck is so awesome! Then I had to wash it.

Filled up for only the second time since buying it May 27th. Saw 601 miles on the range indicator. Love it!

Agreed. Plus I don't want to let anybody wrench on it if I'm capable (& knowledgable) of doing the work myself.
