Wheel Lock Key (Adapter)

Just a reminder to keep your wheel lock adapter in your vehicle. Without it, even a flat tire on the road is tow truck status....

My friends 08 Dodge 1500 4wd fried a hub unit today on a 160 mile fishin trip. We limped it home to my garage with a new bearing in hand, but were stuck in the water because he had no clue where his wheel lock was, and mine wouldn't fit.

Coincidentally, this scenario reminded me to take mine from the shop toolbox and put it in truck glovebox. Just a heads up....

Yep. I always keep mine in the truck just for that reason. You never know!

It blows my mind mine wouldn't work, I figured they were a standard pattern across most trucks.

Wheel lock nuts should be an option, not standard.

Really? It would have blown my mind if yours would have worked on his wheels. That would defeat the purpose!

Odd; I got wheel locks from factory for free but they were just in my glovebox as spares. They were never in place of factory lugs. So my key and all my locks are in the glovebox.

Should just be a FCA thing. Or ok maybe just separate it by generations of vehicles. Is every truck different? As in your key works on your truck but not your neighbors EcoDiesel?
