DEF does have a service life limit of about 6mos, give or take depending on how hot in your area, from when it was poured in the tank. Probably best to drain, flush, and start over.
Ok...you correct..on that...TC-Diesel: Your talking storage inside an environmentally controlled building. I'm talking once it's poured in the truck, being subject to summer heat, winter cold, freezing and thawing.

DEF can freeze and thaw as much as it wants to. It will not affect it. DEF is mostly water. You should never fill the reservoir to its maximum because DEF will freeze at 11 degrees farenthite, and may crack the reservoir. As far as shelf life is concerned, you can store it indoors until it becomes cloudy. Have you heard of anyone who had DEF freeze in their vehicles? It freezes at 11 degrees Farenhy. Manufacturers of DEF put an expiry date on the containers.Ok...you correct..on that...
