It dulites all of the deposits left behind from the urea. Which is why your gauge wouldn't move in the first place. Pour some def fluid in a drip pan and let it evaporate its amazing what it leaves behind.
Sounds like you got very lucky with a $500 bill. Ignoring your cooling system to that extent can cause serious damage. You should at the very minimum open your hood and check your fluids weekly. If any fluids require more than a quart or two between oil changes you have a big issue that needs...
The first thing I would do is charge the battery it should be around 12.8v when fully charged. Jump starting isnt the best way it takes a vehicle with a strong battery and alternator. Also need to have heavy gauge jumper cables. Especially at -18c
The fuel economy drop some people are seeing is due to the software update for the transmission. They are trying to keep the rpms up more to protect the bottom end is what I was told.
The cooling system on our trucks is very complex. After my oil cooler failed it took weeks to get it all cleaned out. The only way to get it perfect on the first shot is to replace everything oil cooler, engine, radiator, egr cooler, heater core, three way valve, transmission heater, all hoses...
Why does your truck have a brand new engine? Im guessing you bought it used. It could just be residual left over from the engine swap. Hopefully they get it sorted out fast.
1250 isn't high enough to melt a piston it's more likely you had a bad injector that melted the piston. The radiator on our trucks is plenty big. The best thing you could do is get a remote mount oil cooler setup from D&J diesel. That well greatly lower your temps all around mine rides at 208...
Theres lot of people who tow travel trailers with there Ecodiesels, Im one of them. They tow great just make sure and use a good quality weight distribution hitch.
Four wheel drive well get you better traction in slippery conditions and have a higher resale value.
Two wheel drive well get a tiny bit better fuel economy and have a little bit higher payload capacity. Also it well cost a little less up front and have two less things to maintain.
You need to edit your post I cant tell which kit your talking about. There are two remote mount oil cooler kits available for our Ecodiesels.
The one made by D&J diesel includes a bypass for cold weather and adds a secondary full flow oil filter. As well as two fans on the standered kit. They...
