One other thing...I asked the service why the old SCR failed and if the new one will fix the problem, the answer was "I don't know". This leaves me thinking that it may happen again. I was hoping for a more definitive answer either way.
Update: Sorry I'm late on the update, but the new SCR was installed. Truck seems to be running fine. ECU was also reprogrammed. Truck is doing a little better on mpg, however there is a noticeable lag when starting from a stop.
Your truck will let you know at varying fill levels ( all low ) that you should add fluid. The truck, i believe, will not allow you to continue if the tank runs dry. All is described in the owners manual. Hope the info helps.
I had seen the same thing, but hearing how one gets there I figured I had to go through the motions.
Well...I'm getting a new SCR/DPF. Will be setting up an appt. to have it installed.
Oh. After clearing the CEL, it came back in less than a week.
This concerns me greatly as the truck is just...
Had another computer flash on Wednesday for the DEF 20EE code. Was almost 2 months that had gone by since this specific CEL. Hopefully this time they got it. A flash notice from Chrysler actually went out the morning that I had the truck serviced.
Noticed, too, that my CTS scanner is no...
Just after leaving the dealership for my 10k mile check in :) the truck got this code again. Decided to take the truck back as i cleared the code once before. Turns out tha Chrysler has an ecu flash for this and believe it or not it was dated today, May 27, 2015. Have at it...
This gent has many very informative videos regarding the EcoDiesel. He IS the truly the beta tester. I believe he is now or has worked with Chrysler on issues and some of the mods he has implemented on his truck. (MoparEcoDiesel.com)
After my recent visitfor my 10k service which included an ECU reflash, the truck just threw a P20EE. Also noticed that remote start cancels after a few seconds. I think this is the way the truck reacts when there is an outstanding CEL in the computer.
Went through another one this morning. In all fairness to the truck, the cycle did not complete. I sat for about 10 minutes before turning the truck off to let EGT3 and EGT4 cool down before shutting her off. But this is the kind of inconvenience that the new clean diesels may be causing.
As...
Dealer flashed the computer. One update was for a DEF issue. I'm thinking that this may address the issue I reported about the DEF inefficiency code that I received. There was another tune change of which the service writer could not explain to me (situation normal). Oil was around 5k miles...
Ya know, you are right. I remember up to 9200 for the 2wd model. Mine is a 4x4 big horn with 3.92 no slip. Good catch. There were a number of different combos all with different tow capacities.
Toughest part was sticking it to my windshield :) By the way, there is a pod you can purchase from Edge or on Ebay to give the installation a nicer finished look. I may do this at a later date or when the suction cup stops working :)
Selecting the gauges to display would be your last big...
a 2005 Ford Excursion Limited for my Big Horn. I miss many of the luxuries in the Excursion, but I don't miss the horrible fuel mileage. truck was going to need some work on the front and back end and I just did not have the time or energy to do it.
Regarding my 2014 Eco, I'll be quite honest...
DEF is very important to the DPF/SCR cleaning cycle. If the cycle cannot complete, then a very expensive service is in the future. I hate the having to add DEF, but it is a necessary evil and I believe will get cheaper with time as more diesels will require it.
What would be nice is if we...
