Never heard of that. Have run anti stiction additives since 2006 in my trucks. Never a problem. Been using Hotshots' since they came out with it. Not sure our Ecos need stiction elimination but I add it for the rest of its benefits.
Did the podcast person have any proof that the stiction...
Here are my notes on acceptable alternatives to the expensive Mopar
Valvoline MaxLife Full Synthetic Multi-Vehicle ATF (Vern Diesel – high miler, towing)
ZF Lifeguard 8 (Forum says same as OEM)
Ravenol (Forum says same as ZF Lifeguard but cheaper)
LiquidMoly ZF fluid (Forum good testimony)
Hot...
I'm also in SoCal, San Diego area. We cannot get the GDE tunes in Califunny, CARB hasn't approved them. Your only options are SFT and MRT. I've used GDE before the ban, SFT and MRT. I've posted about SFT's dishonesty. That leaves MRT (via EOC) that I am now using, both their ECU and TCU...
You didn't get the W58 recall completed? That would have let you keep driving the truck, however, in limp mode, to get it to a dealer. Or did you get the recall and decided easier to have it towed?
It's not a national thing. It's up to the fuel companies as to when and where. Washington state now has a huge renewable refinery near the Canadian border but to date has no distribution. There are scattered locations that only distribute to trucking fleets. Neste My is in the process of...
He may be your only bet as I have not heard of anyone else modding the engine crank. I thought the crank failures were due to its bearing failures. So if he fixes bearing issues on a stronger crank that would be wonderful. Let us know your progress and how it turns out. Randy could use...
You should do some searching about that company. There's a lot of hate and bad reviews, then again there are good reports and reviews. Very controversial.
I don't think "the diesel engine's days are numbered", fossil diesel fuel days are numbered. Now that we have renewable diesel capabilities the diesel engine can exist into the woke green future. Here in Califunny the 76 stations (Phillips66 and Conoco) now offer renewable diesel. I have...
You don't need to drive fast, you need to get it up to and keep it at operating coolant temp. I get on the freeway and run it in 6th or 7th gear to run at 2000 or more RPM. But like Boost said, it may be too late.
Not to argue with your opinion or experience but I have to say there are a lot of very high mileage Ecos on the road that are still running well. I agree the failure rate is too high but not a reason for everyone to bail. Not sure why you think replacing a failed engine instead of repairing...
