New Question: Based on the circus I'm dealing with right now, has ANYONE actually RECEIVED a check from FCA for this emissions settlement?
Inquiring minds want to know...
I'll be curious as to mine. I am (for all intents and purposes) - the 'only' owner. The vehicle had been driven by the owner of the dealership I bought it from for less than a year, and they sold it to me with like 7500 miles on it. The owner of the dealership (sadly) passed away a few...
More news: I printed off the 'offer' documents, signed them, got a nearby notary to sign off on them, scanned and emailed them back. So far so good. I checked my claim status about 30 minutes later, and was pleased and surprised to see:
- Claim Submitted - check
- Document Package Complete...

I had my AEM flash done in mid-May. I just got the 'offer extended package' in this morning's email. Kind of a pain - sign in several places, get it notarized and then either scan/email it back, or send it snail-mail. Plus, as my RAM was a 'demo' the dealership had for less than a year, FCA...

No - I'm considering the GDE Tune or SofaKing Tune. But am concerned about the over 10% failure rate on these engines, and apparently some issues with fires as well, so a Hemi is starting to look more and more attractive. (Obviously want my $3075 PLUS my reimbursement for the EGR Cooler...
Thanks Ram For Life. Every time I check on mine (done in mid-May), it just indicates the AEM flash was done; no movement on it yet at all. Also I pester them a couple times a week about not only the $3075 settlement check, but the $2740 for the cracked EGR cooler I paid for out of my pocket...
Mike - I'm still pestering FCA about my reimbursement for the EGR cooler - as noted, $2740 or so bucks. I've sent in scans of the work order and the paid receipt, and every time I call and pester them, they insist they have everything needed for my reimbursement, but the assigned 'case worker'...
Yes indeed. Turbo lag is VERY bad since the update - especially when cold. Takes a few miles or a lot of idling to get it to respond somewhat normally, and even then it's not like it was prior to the flash.
:cautious: I had to make a left into traffic today and I was about t-boned due to...
CS - LOL Fortunately, with friends like you and T.C Diesel, I don't need any enemies! = D
More or less, yes. The late owner of the dealership drove it for like 6 months or so before I bought it with only like 8000 miles on it, and he passed away shortly after I bought it. So I'm the...
CS - is that from the FCA Claim site? I did mine a while back as well, and had the software updated April 23rd. I'm only seeing this so far:
Maybe it takes a while to 'review.' AND, I have NO idea when/if I'll get not only my settlement check, but reimbursement for that EGR cooler repair...
I had my EGR cooler replaced in April; probably like you, it was $2740 out-of-MY-pocket. The FCA Settlement phone number now has a blurb before they let you talk with someone announcing checks will be mailed starting June 17, and for those getting the software update it'll be six weeks after...
I'm seeing comparable degradation in performance; I got mine done just before Memorial Day. As noted, I've encountered overall sluggishness and turbo lag as well. When pulling my camper over the Holiday weekend (which was one reason I BOUGHT it - because it handled it like it wasn't even...
TC - does the GDE Tune counteract all side effects associated with the AEM flash? Based on their website, those who've gone with the GDE ECM module replacement see noticeable improvements in mileage and performance. I'm sure looking forward to that after all the dust settles with my...
My primary bone of contention at the moment is I'm out $2738.49 for an EGR replacement - performed in mid-April when I couldn't keep coolant in the RAM. That component is clearly (now) covered under the Emissions Settlement, and I'm just trying to get that cash back in my own pocket, and no one...
I had a great call with T.C. Diesel; he indicated it's very likely my plenum is also full of soot and carbon, and (this has been a problem several times with my truck already) there are valves in it that also get caked up. That crud can break loose and affect valves and other engine areas...
