The EGR chamber on My ED coated with just dust soot, the Plenum and Diffuser are the filthy parts. You can remove thermo coupler and clean the ERG before the Plenum cleaning.. Just remove the thermo coupler and spray the Foam cleaner ,it cleans it right up and spits junk into the plenum.
Yes, but My guess 98% goes to the DPF ,Its already in the Intake, You could remove the Plenum an manually clean it, But that won't clean the Intake surfaces or valves areas. I do mine at 12-15K , it cleans up nice, I suppose 25K Miles would be OK.
Foaming requires the removal of the diffuser tube and Foaming the intake plenum I Use Mighty VS7 or Amsoil Foam intake, Cap the inlet of the plenum , make sure the intake tube is in place form Filter to turbo (if Not it won't start) don't worry about the ERG outlet after a minute or so the ERG...
Glow plugs as John mentioned PIR, be careful ,The 3.0 Glow plugs are small and fragile, Brake one off and you will be using profanity. if it does not come out cold, start the engine and work it when running. it may take 10 minutes working it but it will come, don't get frustrated just work it...
Pizza04 the media is very very deceiving in this area ,Contrary to what the media Wants you to Believe, they are only a small portion of what results are actually .. The media and especially forums ( certain forums) want you come to them, Example I was posting that the failure rates were in the...
Boostn I wanted this market to take Off...and I hope it still does. FCA was out the gate 3+ years that's Decades in the Car world, they could have grabbed the market equal to the Dodge Mini Van in the 80s.
I just spent 4 hrs on 2016 That left the dealer with CEL on, The owner was so disgusted He never returned to the Dealer. After He spent the Time with Me (All 4 Hrs) The Dealer Never performed the service they claimed...That's another area of shame, Dealer channels in some cases just don't get...
BS Vern Your lead Mod 97hmcs 1500,diesel.com Ban Me when I started deleting My Started Threads.. Crash has the facts on this. VERN promotes 1500diesel.com rhetoric. All your cheerleading and GDE tune did NOT save your OE Power plant. 350K miles is mediocre at best. I also returned with the ID...
I would have no problem keeping any 3.0 pass warranty if the OA warranted to do so , and with proper maintenance .foaming of the intake and Stationary de-sooting it will last, Yep The stationary de-soot requires WITECH at this time...It should be available in Aftermarket Tools Soon,
JAN.1.18

Get a fumoto Valve http://www.fumotousa.com/results.php?make=71&year=2015&model=34869&makeid=RAM&modelid=1500+3.0L+V6+DIESEL+TURBO Make sampling much easier and you can get the sample with engine running, the filters driver side cartridge style.
Its a plus on the New but do you really know what you have without OAs? I would suggest Samples at 4-8K on the fist 30K miles and then go to 10-12k miles sampling....On the downside another 3.0 pukes itself. By FCA records back in 2016 Several months of 225+ 3.0 replacement demand, With no...
How would you know that your oil is clean W/O sampling? Are you putting trust into the marketing of the Auxiliary system W/O testing to see if performs according to advertised? Like I mentioned earlier The system will extend life ONLY **** If **** the engine is within Spec's & tolerance's
No. Samples are taken correctly with engine warm Via Fumoto Valve 4-6K Miles..... Service at 10-12K Miles,Just to share how accurately they are taken.. I did NOT wipe the Fumoto clean with Brake cleaner before the sample was taken (1 time) and the Sodium was higher BC of the residual salt form...
1 OA is inclusive, Calcium 1737 that's the highest I've ever seen(Or remember) MAG 12 ,Moly 11 If that was My Lube I would be draining it before I typed how PO I was... In long term ownership No bypass system was going to extend any Diesel running that lube over long periods.. And With CAL...
