    Eco diesel oil filter

Actually, I didn't know that. My truck is a 2015 and the filter element is removed from the cap for replacement and the cap reused. I agree, sounds like just a filter issue - defect of some sort.

Aye caramba! That is spendy. Hope the filter includes a new plastic cap.

    Dealership States Blown Head Gasket

I would definitely get a second opinion on that. While head gasket is possible, there are other things that are much more likely to be the cause. I agree, the EGR cooler is a common failure point. One thing I noticed on my truck (also a 2015) is that the level in the coolant reservior, does...

    Eco diesel oil filter

I second Mr. Jensen's comment - I would suspect O-ring (you checked that), and then not tightened properly.

    New to ECO

Well, since the GM dealer is footing the bill, let the Dodge dealer make sure all is good and enjoy! Frankly, as long as you don't have to pass emissions for registration, the delete will improve engine life, MPG, and power.

    New to ECO

Two possible situations come to mind: 1 - The truck sat for a while at the lot and seals/gaskets got dried out. 2 - The dealership is "milking" you. Please don't flame me for saying #2. The simple fact is that some do it and some don't. I don't know if your dealer does or doesn't. My...

2014 Eco Diesel Ram - sudden warning light - low battery 9-10V - truck stopped - had to turn off in drive. Checked battery later - 11.5 .

I would grab a bright flashlight and an inspection mirror and look over the wires coming from the alternator. Don't just look, inspect with your fingers too - wiggle stuff, move the harness around, feel parts that aren't visible, turn it to see rub points, etc. If you don't find anything ...

    Tired of the def

Got it from Harbor Freight, about $100 - ordinary reader If you're wondering about the "permanent code" - once you've fixed the issue and cleared the active code, drive it normally for a day or two and the ECU will clear the "permanent" one. It has to sense that the code setting condition no...

    Tired of the def

When I get the DEF code (DEF pressure too high, or similar) I take the nozzle out of the exhaust, steam clean it and the hole it was in, with a little, cheap unit I bought off Amazon for $30-$40. Comforday, I think is the brand. After that's done I reset the code and all is well for another...

    Recommend engine oil

I, too, have a 2015, currently at 156k mi - had since 26k mi. Here's what I do: I've used a lot of Rotella T-6 full synthetic 5w-40, also Valvoline Premium full synth 5w40. I use 8qts oil w/ 2qts Lucas synthetic oil stabilizer. Changes at 8000 miles. Been thinking about going to 6k or 7k mi...

2015 Ram Eco Diesel Ticking / Oil Leak

I'd also check that front injector installation for proper sealing with the head - sounded to me like an exhaust/combustion leak, the oilyness seems to originate around the injector, and there was smoke being pumped out immediately after starting as opposed to having to warm up a min before...

Thanks for pointing out MRT, I knew there was a third, but couldn't remember the name.

    Good morning EGR ,Help

The main tuners like GDE and SFT have tuner units that have the new tune on it, you plug it into the OBD2 port and flash the ECU yourself. No need to send off the ECU.

18 RAM ecodiesel new lift pump and filter won't start

Only other thing I can think of is to check continuity of wires and a visual for rub thru on the harness outer wrap. I know, a huge hemorrhoid, but I've seen others on various forums have issues with this.

Start off reading this link on the P200 and P2d2 codes. 18 RAM ecodiesel new lift pump and filter won't start

Just looked on my truck (2015) and I think it's either K9 or K13 for the fuel pump relay. One says fuel heater the other says frame/fuel heater.

18 RAM ecodiesel new lift pump and filter won't start

The relay is in the underhood fuse block. Should be inexpensive at a parts store and take seconds to change. Those seem to be notorious for failing. Seems like that would cause the symptoms you described.

Have you tried the fuel pump relay?

Hi to all years owner of 2018 ecodiesel

I believe "reductant" is the DEF fluid and your pump isn't functioning properly. Check your DEF spray nozzle, it could be clogged with urea deposits, causing the issue. When I had issues with my DEF system (don't recall the code), I cleaned the nozzle and mount hole with steam*, cleared the...
