1 - California law has nothing to do with GDE not doing a delete. The EPA is the culprit.
2 - Do an MRT Stage 1 via EOC and ask for the EGT to be shut off and keep the DEF system.
That's what I have, been very satisfied
Thanks John, good to know. What does MRT stand for?

I believe any replies will warn you to stay away from that operation.

OK, Thanks. Any idea where I can buy a new crankshaft from? The Local RAM dealer here in NZ wants NZD4350+ 15% tax, and of course delivery is who know when. I am a bit weary of buying one made in China....

So, there is no way I wanna put the Exhaust Gas back into my now clean inlet manifold. But I haven't got the EoC tune with EGR deactivation, in yet, and won't before I restart the new engine. Can anyone see any raeson why I can't just put a blanking plate in this joint arrowed in this pic? I can't see how doing so can harm anything?

Spoke to PDR Diesel in BC, Canada. They said asbolutely this pipe can be plugged off, so that's what I'm gonna do.

So, I have just finished rebuilding my 2014 RAM Ecodiesel. I had a shop build the long block, I put all the pheripheral stuff on. I actually put a brand new oil cooler/filter assembly on. The new assembly looks exactly like the old one (which was working fine (ie, was flowing oil) when the engine failed (I overheated it and it spun bearings), but when my workshop crowd went to crank the rebuilt engine for the fisrt time....no oil pressure. The told me I had left a bung inside the filter assembly when I bolted it to the block. They removed the bung and it got oil pressure immediately before even firing for the first time. They have drive it 50 miles so far, oil pressure is excellent. Today I went to collect the truck, and I took the original filter assy with me so they could show me what I did wrong. The mechanic said he took this bung out, which turned out to be, as far as I can see, the non return valve (NRV)! My original filter assembly was flowing oil with this NRV in installed, but the new filter assy would not. See attached pictures, I have attempted to explain in the text I have added. My question is, even though I have oil pressure with the new assembly with the NRV removed, what damage could be done by leaving the NVR removed? Why did the original filter assmbly work fine for 101,000 miles with the NRV installed? I did not take the truck away as I had planned, I want to get to the bottom of this dilemma before driving it far. As far as I can see, this NRV opens when one removed the plastic filter cap, so one does not spill oil when chnaging the filter. But why does oil flow through the original assy with the NRV fitted, but does not flow through the new assy with NRV fitted? This has got me stumped!
