second time since June with electronic throttle control now. First was the Kevlar lined hoses X3 in June that cost me $1600 now it went into limp mode again with the same code of P0299. Wtf... had it reset by a another dealer in friends with and the truck seems fine. Runs like a Rocket again once reset... It has just under 65000 miles and it’s a 2015. Any one have a clue what it could be now?

I ordered a new sensor hopefully it will help. I feel I need to buy an Obd2 that can reset the check engine when it happens.. the one I have won’t work. Just not sure which one would anyway

You can just clean it, it needs cleaning about every 12-15K Miles, City/Mixed driving.

I cleaned it about a month ago and one of the little fins broke off so I figured I’d just replace it at this point.

The O-ring should be lube with grease.

Some trucks have well over 200K miles and never a need to clean the MAP sensor.

Reminds me of "if it's not broke don't fix" it or "if it's not broke break it." :)

My truck was doing the same thing, showing Service Electronic Throttle Control. I would reset the code (P0299) with my edge CTS2 and the truck would drive great. It was also showing codes P02E1, P02E0, and P02E8. Its at the dealer right now diagnosing the problem. They replaced the Throttle Valve Actuator which they believed was the cause. That did not fix the problem. After further diagnosis they believe the ECM is bad which is on backorder. Working with Chrysler to get the part as soon as possible, so hopefully I will know an ETA on Monday or Tuesday. I have a bad feeling the ECM is not going to fix the problem.... The MAP sensor was cleaned about 5k miles ago, so I can't imagine it is already clogged.

Your bad feeling will be confirmed at replacement, it will NOT resolve the problem. Yes the map can be cake up in 5K miles.

Thoughts on a GDE tune fixing it? Been waiting to do that and this makes me want to

Update to my comment from Oct 5th. Truck is still at the dealer. They received a new ECM from Chrysler and it was also bad... Should have another one in today or tomorrow. I did go there last week and cleaned the MAP (took 5 mins in the parking lot) which was dirtier than I expected. Cleared the codes with my CTS2 and they came right back P03E8, P0299, & P02E0. Hope the new ECM is the fix!

If it’s not the ECM or a dirty MAP then what are the other possible causes?

My 2014 RAM and my wife's 2015 JEEP GC both have the GDE tune. Wouldn't drive without it. No "Service Electronic Throttle Control" error messages. Better power curve and torque curve along with more hp and torque, improved fuel mileage. Only draw back in the EPA Compliant Tune is that DEF is used faster, no more eight gallons at 10K miles
