That test is for soot only, Now put 300 Miles Mixed driving keep it off the rollers place it into Aggressive Regen 2800 RPMs for 12-20 minutes , I promise it fails until the DPF reaches 1000+*, Last Monday I place My ED in this Mode ( WITECH MIC II ), you could see the soot until the DPF reached 1325* , I than placed a paper towel over 1 of the tail pipes it was black in seconds. I should have made a Video. next time I will.... My ED Active Regens every 150-200 miles of mixed driving, My D-Max 200-300 or Cummins 300-600 miles+ in same conditions. All Dodge Cummins 13-15 are now being Upgraded to New SCRs (complete) 2016 + are OE equip with New system. If it was possible to fit the 3.0 VM with any system to pass FCA would have already done it...Sure if FCA lowers the power level to 180HP it would pass, but who wants a 180HP truck. You could buy it and add the HP but many don't want this for warranty and other preferences.
All that test confirmed is the DPF was doing its job under the conditions the test was done, Change the conditions and the results will change also.
Looks to me like they're taking you for a run around keep pushing it back and back and back
Yep. That's part of my thinking. I typically don't care for ford but the efficiency is my major deciding factor at this point. You know Ford will meet emissions with their 3.0L powerstroke in the F150.
My next diesel will be a 7.3 power stroke.
Said goodbye to my Ecodiesel. Loved the truck for a daily driver and had very little problems with it. Spooked by all the news going around and made me feel like I should not spend anything on it like for new tires, etc until I knew what was going to happen with all this. Got tired of waiting, worked an acceptable deal on a 2017 Ram 3500 Laramie Longhorn 6.7 Cummins. I would like to have seen the Ecodiesel make a great mark in the 1500 category. Who knows. Just got tired of waiting.
There were more issues not related to the Ecodiesel that made the change but part of those issues involved spending a good chunk of money on the truck. I just didn't feel confident spending a couple thousand on it not knowing what will happen and I just choose not to wait and see. The fact that this has not yet been resolved as a reflash with unknown consequences makes me think it is bigger than that. Maybe not the right choice for everyone but it was for me.Nice new truck. Not sure I get dumping the 1500 because of EPA issues tho. I still haven't been convinced there's a losing deal for the consumer in this BS....
