RWT.... I don't see HOW YOU could have destroyed your Motor by what you did, it's likely connected to the 20,000+ VM 3.0s that have failed due to poor assembly at Cento Italy.
More info is needed... it's unlikely that cleaning the EGR caused the failure, did You foam the Plenum? If it was cleaned properly their would be NO soot to enter the intake. What exactly did you clean?
I don't see lawyering up is going to help in your case. Matt the facts are you had Seven years of warning, Myself and many others stated back in 2016 that the failures will not stop. Unfortunately, Sites like 1500diesel.XXX Mods have promoted a hand full of Illegally operated VM 3.0s as the...
Eatsleep... As long as sites like 1500diesel.XXX continue to promote the handful of Illegally operated VM 3.0s and people believe those lies VM and Fiat will never see any Class action suits..... If you post your experience over there the mods will just attack you...If you want to Join the honor...
SeanPwnery, Hear me out on this. Your problem now is well known. and look 3 months? ..These time frames are going to get longer and More $$$$ for the Ram VM 3.0.... repairs
SeanPwnery... I cannot confirm the Tone Ring count down... What I do Know is Most powerplant makers use both the Cam and Crank sensors to operate........ and will trigger the CEL to replace the faulty one, it's just 1 of many short comings this engine has.
John... Never heard that...Defueling would not lower the Temps... only the power..... if the source is 1500diesel.XXX Mods is equivalent to CNN fake information.
All Ram 3.0 VM have two Heat exchangers 1 for lube the other for Trans Fuild, it's really a shifty design and prone to failure.... the Temps are controlled by 3-way Coolant Valve.
Caveman I Hear Ya, the facts are bedplate engines are unforgiving when it come to rotating mass... every spec needs to be dead-on and VM Motori about $500+ million in production upgrades to MFG to current industry standards.
SeanPwnery, The dealership has no idea what their doing... You have been totally rip-off. it takes 5 minutes to check the in-tank lift pump.
It takes and expert to correctly diagnose problems like this, in the end it will be a simple fix for someone that knows WTH they are doing...
Your entire Plenum is cake with soot Just Like the Map sensor and Tube, it's only time before it effects the swirl Valves in the plenum and eventually It will warp the intake valves, or continue performance issues, you clock is ticking replace the plenum before it leaves you stranded.
