Like Shadow above. Bought a 2016 bighorn brand new and It has several upgrades/mods to make it mine. It has been tuned since 2016. I've always used a good fuel and oil additive and do the maintenance myself. It's a low mileage daily driver of short hops, which is the worst treatment you can...
"Eco diesel has a system that adds uretha and water (DEF)" this part of your post is true, the rest is 100% false.
DEF is injected into the SCR for the sole purpose of reducing or eliminating NOx into the atmosphere. It has not other purpose and in no way makes fuel burn more efficiently...
GDE has an emissions compliant tune that keeps the EGT working
Many, including me, want a tune that shuts off the EGT. Two tuners whose tunes shut off the EGT and get recommended a lot are SFT and MRT. There are a couple of others, but they get very controversial reviews.
I know nothing about...
Get a tune. My SFT Stage 1 tune now deletes the DEF system, didn't have to lose any parts. When I return to stock tune, everything is intact with DEF system working. Keeps the dealer happy. I actually was upset when they made this change because I think the DEF system is a good one. I...
You need AlfaOBD software and a bypass cable the change the ECM to your VIN number and injector data. There's a lot of info and how tos on other forums and Google
You are wasting your money to add a k&N cold intake or any other system. The stock air intake will provide more air than the small Ecodiesel turbo can handle. Early on GDE proved this and later others have as well.
The easiest way to start a manual regen is with an Edge CTS2. You just select it and it will regen on the next ignition cycle (after the truck reaches the prescribed temps)
If the truck had the AEM recall (VO8 or VA7) it got a 48 month extended warranty.
That warranty covers the sensor. If the tone wheel failure took out the sensor, the whole job is covered. I have read where truck tone wheel failures did not take out the sensor, but were covered. There seems to...
Welcome to the forum.
I am a fan of tuning but not of deleting, so I'm no help there. Do some searching, there's lots of info.
I do the fishing and logging road thing every year in eastern Oregon with my brothers. Used to elk hunt, now it's camera shooting and trout fishing.
Help me out. You say the diesel 2 year mark is because of deleters. Deleters have not been able to get registered in any smog zip code for several years. So they don't exist (legally). What makes you say that?
