Mine came with factory bed liner, whatever brand that is, and it rocks. I've been extremely unkind to it (metal, woods, motor oil, oil tanks etc) and it hasn't faltered yet!
Next to nothing comes out of the oil pan. I've checked this dozens of times - extract oil top side, put the car/truck on the lift and open the drain pan. Nothing comes out (a few drops, maybe an ounce total)
I'd actually wager that you can get more of the old oil out with the extractor method...
It's easy to understand - faster, cleaner, and easier for the DIY'er. You don't need to put the car on ramps, crawl/creep under it, deal with an oil drain pan that is full of oil and splashing around, deal with a hot drain plug and hot oil coming flying out.
Most dealership and shops that I...
I just used the Kendall on my latest change, but, afterwards did some more reading on the different options. Mobil 1 ESP will be my choice from now on because it has the lowest sulfated ash content and highest HTHS (high-temperature, high shear) of all the MS-11106 oils. The Pennzoil is close...
I'm always skeptical of these private labeled filters. Any company can buy filters from manufacturers globally and stick a sticker on them. Stick with a known name, an OE supplier of filters.
I also have zero worries about transmission temperatures. This 8-speed box is tried and true and installed in a LOT of cars throughout the world. This was ZFs crowning jewel when it was released, and they are making millions of them.
I have the Solid Fold and it is 100% spectacular.
My deal-breaker for covers was an unsightly or difficult to install rail system. That pretty much ruled any rolling covers out. The high quality rolling covers were too pricey for my budget anyhow. Most tri-fold also have a rail system, and I...
I'm sorry but I find that disappointing a disservice to this community. You do not "owe" us anything, but if you are going to spend hours using this forum as your soap box, posting and promoting your videos about how your engine failed, how you need to replace it, how all these things are...
This is an answer to a question that wasn't asked. I don't disagree that the sprocket slipped.
How did they repair the camshafts? Did you put in a new engine or not?
:::EDIT:::
Engine was not replaced. Shawn answered the engine question on his you YouTube video:
Lots of questions...
Yes, this is true, but not like this. Reground cams modify the base circle for performance games or repair a damaged cam lobe, the part that hits the rocker arm lifter assembly. Repairing a tapered end is a whole different story.
:::EDIT:::
Based on the videos the camshafts do not appear to...
I cannot see how this is possible. If there was slippage at the gear there would be damage to the mating surface. Machining that surface would take away material, leaving a surface that is smaller than the diameter for the sprocket. Unless a new sprocket was created, I don't understand how...
Shawn -
I'm sorry to hear that its been a few hard weeks for you. These things always seem to come in waterfalls.
That being said, this whole post structure you are following is making me very uncomfortable. You've taken a "the sky is falling" approach to this whole thing, when in reality it...
I've hit 32 on all highway trips. I find that 70mph with traffic yields the best fuel economy. The traffic makes the air turbulent so their is less wind resistance. Traffic also has ups and downs in speed giving time for coasting (in gear).
