Mine will only clunk sometimes when making a low speed maneuver but it seems it is something in my front end, I have the air ride and almost think at times there is some bad geometry in their set up.

Ambient air two nights ago at about 62 degrees towing my jet boat back from the river I was running 230-235 oil temp. Not a fan of the factory "cooler"

Ya no kidding...he didn't have his truck for 85 days last year and already over 30 days this year...there is no way I could swing that it's crazy. I mean knock on wood I don't have those issues but my pessimism tells me I'm doomed. And I doubt I will keep this truck outside of warranty. Which sucks.
Ya this isn't my truck it's my friends I only have 9k on my truck with 0 issues so far but the future seems somewhat inevitable. And I would like to do an oil cooler delete before I have any of the same problems.
So my friends eco that has had so many issues has finally bit the dust. Needless to say they are done. It was looking good after they got their second oil cooler replaced. They had about 1k miles on it since when it lost an injector, got that fixed two days later started getting hot, shop fixed...
Yes they are when in cruise control it's amazing how a 1 mph increase can result in a 2 to 3 mpg loss...my gearing seems to like 59mph and ~72 mph the best.
I do as well...it will take quite some time for me to get up around the 20k mile mark when they tend to fail. And I hope mine never does. But I will seek out an aftermarket route shortly if FCA does not do something on their own.
I guess it just depends on the area some have quite a few of these trucks some dont. There are 3 trucks now that are friends and customers of mine here in town that have all had the issue. So my basic statistics math tells me there are a lot.
There would be a possibility of that if the oil cooler had anything to do with the exhaust/hot side of then engine. I simply can't believe they have obviously replaced thousands of engines under warranty and have not put out a recall or update.
I don't really think coolant type could be a factor beings that even OAT coolant is designed to protect metals etc. I believe it is a poor built unit and the heat is the biggest issue. Hot to cold too many times with regularly seeing oil Temps at 220-230 will make a poor built unit brittle and...
At this point there would be no way to track...the only way it could be tracked is by the manufacture through warranty stats. Which we will never get out of any mfr.
Have not been too active on here lately I have been in the middle of a bathroom remodel project that I'm doing at my house. Truck has 9k miles still absolutely trouble free and is finally at the body shop getting repaired. They say city driving is not great for them yet that's mostly all I do...
The dealership when I had my truck serviced for the first oil change at 7k miles. Put a sticker in the windshield to return at 13k miles I'm not sure this guy even knew what he was working on.
