I would like to see you make a part that replaces the EGR diffuser tube. This part would route the exhaust straight to the ground like an old school pre-1965 blow-by pipe. Why? People who don't want to pay for a tune could get the benefit of tuning by keeping EGR from fouling their intake and...
I just didnt see anything about how it handles the EGR in the ad. So at 600 for the Stealth, I think I would go the extra $ and use the GDE which is very proven.
this thing? https://www.stealthmodules.com/products/ram-eco-diesel-3-0l-14-19
I use the GDE ECM tune. I can tell you the biggest factor in ecodiesel engine health is shutting down the EGR valve. If the stealth doesnt do that I dont think it much helps you. But, if it does, and if you live...
They are not great around town vehicles. They really do better with more miles and getting up to full operating temperature. You are more likely to have DPF problems if you don't do highway driving.
Seeing as it is part of the Emissions Control System, I would make the dealer fix it. The Walmart supertech brand is best because it sells fast and gets rotated out fast. The Peak stuff sits and sits. You can also get a mag ring and buy it at the pump...
thank you for posting that! This gives me 3 more years of care free ownership of everything except for the main bearing problem. I don't see that the block (heads are covered) is covered.
Next time it no-starts, stand outside the vehicle and turn the key to on but don't crank it. See if the fuel pump is making that whining noise. But ahead of the next failure I would change the fuel filter and tell us if it is really bad or not. It sounds like a fuel problem to me.
My understanding is the extra pollution occurs during regen. The software will change how regen works or occurs. If this was just a reflash to delete some extraneous files you would not be getting any money. Hopefully someone gives us a better understanding of how the operation of the engine...
2500 is a reasonable shop charge. The engine, brand new from a dealer, is $9994.12 delivered. https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Chrysler-complete-engine-5158048AF-Mopar-ECO-ecodiesel-Ram-FCA-NEW-IN-BOX/362569007404?hash=item546acc012c:g:WzYAAOSw3bZcQmoK:rk:6🇵🇫0
Incredible! I have seen semi tires blow up on the highway and that is something else! I put Michelin Defenders on the truck after the factory tires wore out. Make sure they road force balance your new tires so you get the same ride quality.
a diesel mechanic told me the sensor only tells if the EGR is open or close. My idea is to take the factory EGR diffuser tube and pull back the sock. Then put in a thin slice and drop in a round wafer to block the tube. Then we TIG weld it up, polish it, and pull the sock back over it. It...
well, the EGR diffuser tube comes out easy. Cleaning in solvent is maybe 2 hours work. The hard part is removing your intake and taking it apart and cleaning all the internals and the swirl valves. I would suspect about 8 hours. You have a lot of warranty left. I wouldn't delete anything...
I did the exchange option where I owed them a core and they charged me a core charge. My wife drove my truck to VA and when she came back it showed 32 mpg on the computer. My oil comes out used but not disgusting at each oil change. The intake manifold is relatively clean and my swirl valves...
