Your absolutely correct on the egr choking your engine but it does sounds like its not the root problem. It may be something small like a fuel filter or small boost leak. Thats where I would start.
You should always have your rotors turned or replace them!
If not, your half assing the job and destroying a great brake service.
This is coming from someone who used to do brakes professionally.
Turn them or replace them, but never pad slap them!
Im yet to here of a cold start issue with these trucks. Now as far as a turbo timer use your oil temps. Personally under 230 I consider it ok but with synthetic oil theres no big worrys.
Yeah ive been running the D&J hd kit for about 2k its a great kit. Im thinking of adding another fan and a second hd cooler but I tow almost every weekend. On long grades with egts over 1300 the oil still warms up, I've seen a high of 267 degrees F. Ive never ran the H&S kit so I cant speak on...
The install really isnt too bad for the D@J kit but the H&S kit is easier as theres no need to mount the thermostat and the oil filter housing also no wiring. But I think both kits work well I also like the extra oil filter since I can run a full flow Amsoil filter.
Teri906 Your coolant is higher then your oil so clearly there is an issue in either the electrical system or your egr. The first thing I would do is get a coolant sample if it is becoming acidic then your egr cooler is leaking.
Hi there ive decided to get involved in the forums again ( ive been staying away from all the negativity since I owned a 6.0) But ive heard good things about here.
