Correct, soot gets past the rings, Diesel engines have much higher compression than a gas engine, and diesel combustion causes more soot than gas, it hurts nothing, my Cummins was the same, my motorhome the same, my motorhome Kubota engine for the generator same thing, my old

The only thing the Dealer has to do to my truck is install the replacement EGR cooler when they have them, mine is just fine but it's coming one of these days. My question is if anyone knows for sure, when the EGR cooler is replaced do they reflash the ECM?, I have a tune, and a few things added...
I have had mine for almost 3 years been a great dependable truck, TC is or has become a Eco hater for what ever reason, it's a truck and it's a small diesel engine just maintain it and move on there is more in life that what you read here
If the it will be months?, you have a 100% Lemon Law case, your call, I would at the expiation of the lemon time limit what ever it is just dump it on them and move on, you still want a ecodiesel they will replace it
