    100% Exhaust Filter

I don't believe short hop trips have anything to do with engine failure. The emissions system, EGR, DPF, and SCR are exhaust related, not engine related. Yes, the EGR system can destroy the intake manifold but not the engine. Local, short-hop driving where the truck doesn't or hardly get to...

    100% Exhaust Filter

While there have been a disturbing amount of engine failures the failure rate is not large, it's only .92%. There's a lot of speculation as to why they fail but nothing absolute other than the lower-end examples. It's the luck of the draw. One owner has reported he's on his third failure while...

    Oil type

Originally Rotella T6 5w-40 VM Motori has said to use a Synthetic European oil, 5W-40, MS-12991. So I am now using Quaker State Euro Full Synthetic 5W-40 (5-Quart - 22.97 Walmart & Amazon) The MS-12991 spec is what's important. What makes you lean towards Amsoil? Amsoil reports better deposit...

    High pressure fuel pump

There is no answer. If you want an answer, it will last from 0-500,000+ miles or more. The failure rate is less than 1% of all the Ecodiesels, meaning it hardly ever fails. There is no data on how the failed vehicles were used or maintained. Ram may have data on miles before failing or what...

    Ram 2022 catastrophic engine failure.

It's disappointing that a relatively new member would resort to name-calling and disrespecting a long-time contributor to this forum.

    Z46 news

She's neither ignorant or lying. Not sure what you expected her to say but your reaction deserved the click. You are correct, the dealers are ignorant of the situation. I have a sharp and knowledgeable Service Manager who would also say there's no fix yet because he gets no info regards the...

Good, probably just under your limit. I would think a 30 footer loaded would be more than 7000. At least the ones here in SoCal headed for the desert would be. Enjoy your truck and your trip, it will definitely be better than the Hemi

Do ypu know what that 30" toy hauler weighs? I would think it's over limits for your truck.

Welcome Any Ecodiesel is good at towing. There are many reports about easily towing over the truck's limits. I don't recommend that, I am just mentioning it to confirm the Eco's ability. If you tow heavy over the mountains, watch your temps and use lower gears to keep temps in check

Does anyone know of the Z46 recall and when a fix is coming from Ram 2015 ecodiesel ?

I wasn't defending anything. You asked some questions, just thought you'd like some answers.

    Hello

Welcome The "lifetime" tranny is sealed, thus, no dipstick. I haven't heard of tranny leaks. That's a pretty good leak. I would suspect the lines or maybe it's the cooler. Try to find the source.

    Crankshaft reluctor wheel positioning

Yes, If you opted out of the AEM recall the W68 recall replaces the bad tone wheel. If you completed the AEM recall the W58 recall installs software that allows the truck to keep running if the tone wheel fails. The W58 extended the tone wheel warranty to 8 years from the w58 completion date...

Eco Diesel Engine maintenance and upgrades

Be careful how you vote for Pres. If Newsome runs and wins he'll turn the USA and Texas into a Califunny

Eco Diesel Engine maintenance and upgrades

Califunny has very strict smog inspections. If any code or engine light is present the truck will not pass smog. Califunny requires an Ecodiesel to have all emissions system parts intact, no aftermarket add-ons unless they have a CARB-approved sticker, and all Ram emissions-type recalls must...

GDE cannot sell to Califunny vehicles. They have tried to get CARB approval but so far unsuccessful.

Eco Diesel Engine maintenance and upgrades

It is important to use the proper oil and to change at required intervals or earlier. Your 2015 originally required Mopar #68001334-PB, 5w-30 (Chrysler MS-11106 Specs) FCA changed to Shell Rotella T-6, 5w-40 (5th Edition Diesel Supplement, 7/2016) In April this year a member of another forum...

Does anyone know of the Z46 recall and when a fix is coming from Ram 2015 ecodiesel ?

Nice review and update, the the attachments are appreciated. I've been wondering about the Class Action. The "Review" tells us yes there is one, has a lot of good info and some errors. Most interesting was their statement, "On May 25, 2023, the court ordered the Plaintiffs to file an amended...
