I was approved last year but waited for the rumored new AEM flash. Got the new AEM flash last May and the check came shortly thereafter.
One poster keeps saying the truck is "crap" after the AEM flash. My truck was fine after the AEM flash, maybe better than the original. Don't know the mpg...
Another "score" for TC!
What's interesting to me is all we tuned guys will reload the stock tune, get the update, return to the tune and the update is gone. The update does nothing for us - another penalty for being tuned. Someone has said if the failure happens to a tuned truck to merely...
Have you seen the new W58 recall? It says:
"Vehicles Affected: Approximately 58,000 vehicles, including model-year 2014-18 Ram 1500 pickup trucks equipped with 3.0-liter diesel engines
The Problem: The crankshaft position sensor tone wheel may delaminate, causing the engine to lose its...
Rodney and the other internet warranty discounters are selling the same Chrysler warranty that your dealer is selling. No need to be concerned. You can go online, pick what type you want and get a quote. Shop around, as they vary. Present the online quote to your dealer, they will often...
Pertinent data that I monitor with an Edge CTS3:
Regen on or off
% soot (active regen starts at 66% if coolant temps are at proper level)
EGT3 is DPF Inlet (active regen data)
Exhaust manifold temp (overheating/overloading causes engine breakdown)
EGT1 is pre-turbo (exhaust manifold temp -...
2014-2018 Ram 1500’s and Jeep Grand Cherokee’s 3.0L V6 EcoDiesel engines all use the same ECU and can be converted from one to the other. The part number is 05150767AC.
You have to take the ECU and truck to a dealer to have the ECU flashed to your Vin number.
There are posts in other forums...
rogedmonds, You certainly have something to be concerned about.
From what I've read over the various forums it seems that Ecodiesels been dependable after the current recall, mine for sure is. The first AEM recall flash was not good and it was corrected in early January. The dealer should...
Not sure where you got 200 miles. I track my regens. With SFT tunes locally I'm getting about the same or slightly better intervals as a stock tune. My GDE tune was about the same for local driving. On highway traveling it's a different story, 100% Freeway & hiway I get between 767 mi & 1003...
I
I do have considerable experience with SFT.
SFT has great tunes, is customer satisfaction oriented and the lowest prices (goes on sale often) and is in the great USA.
I have used the GDE tune (same as HD Diesel's ??) and find the SFT tune to be as good if not better at mpg, towing and...
These kinds of problems are rampant in companies where the bean counters are now making the decisions. The days of decisions made for product quality and customer satisfaction are long gone.
My 2016 is said to have the DEF sensor and I run 100% distilled water with no problems on both the GDE and SFT tunes. TC Diesel has done tests to see how far you can dilute DEF and not throw a code on a stock tune. Not sure of the numbers right now.
Yes, and from what I have read IMO the tunes and shutting off the EGR are the best things you can do for it.
My Service Manager supports the tunes because my Eco is my daily driver with more short hops than freeway time. Short hops are this engine's nemesis.
There's only one stock.usr file
There's only one SFT ECU tune .usr file in my early system of a tuner for the ECU tune and a tuner for the TCU tune.
Not sure in the new tuner where both ECU & TCU tunes are housed.
