Maybe I can clear this UP, GM All makers Must meet the certification REQUIRED by Federal Law...
The VM 3.0 is Hero/Zero Status.
The sound foam has one purpose to deaden sound.
Its damaging to all the components it smoother them to death, cover up fuel leaks until its to late and in the unlikely case it does catch fire it will add to the flames and any effort to extinguish.
The intake Plenum is NOT covered, However it is covered under 100K miles / 5 years, IMO make sure you get'er covered and replaced before 100k miles and 5 years is up.... It will be sooted up bad and will eventually cost in long term ownership.
Don't let it reach 100%, Due to its age you should take it to someone with WITech to place the vehicle into Stationary Regen to burn the ash out. It will take at least 3 cycles to clean it out with WITech.
Its the tires....Balance Masters May solve the problem.... I have a Vib in My 2013 3500, I spent $1000s on chasing , Centramatic's, Balance Masters, 10 different balancing's, 3 sets of different tires, DL replacement ugh.
Yes... the EGR is like this, Hose from butt to mouth, No human last very long either do diesels at the % that small displacement diesel engines need to meet Nox levels. The 3.0 get's the Oscar for mileage.
Yep.. Here's the history 3.0 GM/VM are the originators ,joint venture to place the 3.0 in its Cadillac's Sold in Europe, So its original Purpose was to move 3200Lbs car, GM sold out to Detroit/Penske, They sold to FCA, FCA bought VM back in 2010.
IMO this engine will work but its needs...
That's 5 years of Failures Icem your not the 1st 2018 to puke either....I only know of a hand full of 3.0 to make it past 200K miles, ALL have been commercial hwy Miles , I don't know of any DD to make it to 200K W/O puking and the ones I know close to that mileage All have had major repairs to...
What Ps the most is the illusion some dealership portray, as being experts, when it comes to diesels the individuals come up short on knowledge and skill, big on the $$$$$$$...
Some SRs skills/mentality equal your local furniture sales people.
It adds to the fire, It destroys Wiring and connections buried under it in long term ownership...The myths you hear about diesel like heat are equal to fake News.
HPCR fuel system generate heat so Yon DON"T need to retain it., Also remove the CP4 cover.
One fire was related to fuel leak...
FCA cannot force Dealerships to perform work/repairs. FCA will authorize and reimburse the dealership for repairs/work.
I have not look into Hagens Berman compliant on engine failures.... Case 3 17-MD-02777-EMC FILED 11/9/17 SF CA, REPRESENTS INDIVIUALS.
2 17 CV 11633 ,FILED IN MI 5/23/17...
CS, its NOT in the settlement for FCA regulate Dealership Functions, If any Dealership refuses to cover the stated components, You can bring the matter before FCA, Most likely FCA will instruct to go to another Dealership, Your dispute is with the Dealership NOT FCA.
Hagen Berman did little for...
Correct, I verified this Yesterday...All Dealerships have the info on this, You should have No problem with this being covered in any competent Dealership.
The bed plate require precision assembly... I believed this was overlooked during R/D when the engine went into production it was to late to shutdown, the problem exploded when production was ramp up to meet demand.
I've spoke to experts in line production oversight, they all have the same...
The -5-40w has not stop the puking, 1000s of 3.0 failed running -5-40w after factory dump, most 2016+ had 5-40w OEM, No lube will make up for shoddy QC at Cento.
Regardless of what you use for tuning, New Motor is no better then the one that failed, XXX owners are on 3rd Motor, I know of 1 owner on 4th down in LA FCA did Buy back on 4th I think he's waiting on GM 1500 Diesel.
You should at least give the New motor some time before (Possibly) voiding...
