2015 CCSB BigHorn 3.55 & OEM 20s
From Ohio to the NC coast. That's crossing the Apps and a lot of 75-80mph driving. Bed was loaded with chairs, canopy, luggage, coolers, etc. Had a hitch n haul on back loaded with rods and my tackle. Not bad IMO. Didn't fill up until I got here.
That 88% includes the Hemi, not just the 3.6L. So I'd be interested to see what the actual % is of those buying the Pentastar.
I believe most customers still only see two choices in the half tons; you have the strong running typical truck engine in the Hemi or the fuel saver 3.6L V6. Not sure...
Congrats Earl. You're gonna love it.
These EcoDiesels are in a class of their own. Sure there are half tons out there that will tow more, are quicker off the line, and are set up better for the trails and woods. BUT, there is not a truck out there that will do all those things relatively well...
Yea I agree. The few trips I've taken so far it seems the tow/haul is just too much for my application. I can see it's benefit in heavier situations, but I think my next trip will be in normal D. Thanks for the opinions.
That's what I'm thinking. I'll also add that the weight I'm pulling probably doesn't warrant the tow/haul function. Would keep RPMs down = save fuel. Maybe manually keep it at 7th if needed?
I've read that it's not a good idea to use cruise control while towing. Why?
I tow an 18-1/2' aluminum bass boat. I don't know the actual weight, but I can't imagine it being more then 3000# if that. The roads I travel to the lakes are mostly flat, 60mph two-lane highways. I use the tow/haul...
Pretty good idea. But I'd be interested to see how they hold up against the elements, and see how they operate after the bed has had a load of dirt/gravel/sand in it. Looks like it would get caked up.
Now if it was an internal design that would be really cool...
Awesome! I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
Make sure they include the relocation bracket for the harness by drivers side motor. You can easily fab one up but it'd be nice to have it already.
