Ronald, My 2015 was ordered and I welcome the 3.0VM and wanted it to be a big success, This would have open the Door to My Dsl business to Make $$$$, I absolutely refuse to lower My standards on Dsl powerplants for profit.
Also Ronald I don't make claims WITHOUT merit and will change My...
Maybe Ronald you should concern yourself more with the Facts.
This Engine is a miserable failure, Plague with problems No Owner should have to inherit.
Now if your a Nay Sayer your welcome to your Opinion.
Its a fact Owners from 2014-16 were 250+ times more likely to have engine Puke than any...
Its was the Joint Venture with GM that created the 630/3.0. One has to ask WHY GM, Detroit Penske believed that VM 3.0 was road worthy why Sell.
IMO Ocaam's razor applies here, "the simplest solution is most likely the right one"
Its a good Business move to dump the 630 ASAP, FPT already...
I see your point, With My WITECH , I monitored that thermocouple pass the EGR Vale and Exchanger with infrared gun, it was still 200-300F.
The bypass valve does NOT stop the Heat/Gases. I even cap the Plenum and made My own tube from EGR Valve to atmosphere. It still triggered rationale...
The EGR valve is downstream of coolant exchanger. Yes You stop the gases from entering the Intake plenum. The heat is still in the chamber / exchanger. IMO your adding heat/stress to the exchanger increasing your risk of failure, Coolant leak. Yes its close during Active / Stationary Regens, The...
How much Longer Will the current 3.0VM be available for Ram 1500 Pickup. VM looks to be gearing up for Industrail, Marine, Off-Road and Ag Productions. These current Engine being produce By VM look similar to FPT (Fiat Power Technologies line up) The 3.0VM V has already been dropped for Jeep...
I also partially block My EGR, again it did very little in stopping the copious amounts of Exhaust gases the 3.0VM ED produces, its simply the most soot producing small engine I have ever encountered.
If you want to block the Tube its 9/32 size hole, even 1/4 sized triggered rationale code...
Unplugging the bypass does little as suggested., It will trigger rationale code form Time to time happens more often in warm summer months. I ran the bypass unplugged for 14 months. Its a bypass it will NOT close entirely. Just leave it plug in and save yourself the hassle.
That's about the same as My 2015 HWY MPG was, I did mange to hit to 30MPG HC 1 time driving 65 MPH for 210 miles in IA and no wind. My City Mixed use was 17-18MPG HC.
I would not describe the inherited risk the VM3.0 presents as Fun. I need to ask, any research before Purchase. The 6.7 first year release is no where near the problems the VM3.0 presents.
Angry Ginger, Its Fiat and their love for VM Motori in Cento Italy, North American Auto Group, the Branch Here in NA Has beg off ,but Fiat being the Parent company has the leverage necessary to Force Dealers to take the ED's.
I have stopped helping 2017+ owners and have 0 sympathy for them...
Yes, It will consume 1 Gallon Per 500-600+ Miles Driving, Some drop all at once , so if you Drove 3000 KM my guess you can add 2 Gallons, I would wait until it move to 3/4 and add 2.5 Gallons, Watch out....Don't go months without adding, Some drive 4/5K Miles than the gauge drops to empty than...
EGR is required to Meet Near 0 PPM NOx.
The only NONE EGR engines to meet CAA laws AND Near 0 PPM NOx are engine with entirely new Technology, SCR with new precsious
metals and New divisional exhaust, with elaborate DEF system.
The 3.0 is in quagmire of Problems, If the $Millions$ that OEMs...
All those codes could be related something as simple as poor connection(s) or costly parts like SCR+, It will take someone that has the correct diagnostic knowledge and skill IN addition know how to use the data.
