    High pressure fuel pump

Great plan. Now the OEM HPFP is a BOSCH CP4.2 which is a twin cylinder high pressure pump. The warranty replacement will be a BOSCH CP3.0 a single cylinder slightly lower pressure pump.

2017 3.0 will crank but not start. Has no codes.

Several possible issues, crank sensor, cam position sensor, HPFP failure, lift pump failure. Many times would not throw a code, you may only see an anomaly while actively scanning during start cycle. A good diesel mechanic is paramount for diagnosis. Good Luck.

Prevent Cam Gear failure on EcoDiesel

Sorry for your issues. To answer your question, multiple issues, wiring harness, ECM, transmission swap, easier to get the gas engine truck. FCA has misrepresented inventory as well as re-builders available. Research independent shop re builders for your eco, you may have to travel but there are...

    P026C again

I have not had the HPFP replacement, we are still being told indefinite backorder, and I have received this code several times. My lift pump was loosing its flow rate, wearing out, once replaced I have not had that code repeated. Since you have had the HPFP replaced the fuel injectors and fuel...

    Manual Regen

If your reader can differentiate between upstream or downstream sensor it is fairly simple to replace the NoX sensor. I had the same issue with my 2500 RAM with the Cummins 6.7L (279K miles and change) and I identified the offending NoX sensor and replaced, no more codes. The nationwide...

Fuel leak after turbo coolant line replacement

The dealer replaced my turbo coolant line last year. This summer we began smelling diesel fuel occasionally through vents. Then an acrid smell when coming to a stop. Progressively got worse, finally had a small puddle of diesel under the truck while parked for four hours, while out of town, upon...

    Swirl Valve/Manifold cleaning

I have been using the two part BG Intake System Clean to keep it from building up. My wife's Jeep eco is getting the same code, I missed several services, and I am having limited success with an already stuck swirl valve system. Short of pulling the manifold that would be the best bet. Question...

Poor mpg 2016 eco diesel 3.0L

Have read the thread and you have received some excellent answers, so I can only add my experience. My 2014 eco is stock except for the K&N air filter and the GDE EPA Compliant tune, I am presently running LT 10 ply tires in stock size, no lift. I run 23 mpg in town and 26 hwy. I consistently...

    CV Axle issues

My 2014 has presently 183K miles and my right side boot has torn, may be my fault, OK it is my fault, so I am expecting to replace in the near future. I was removing the airbags and installing shock spring struts and may have pinched things while forcing my way vs. the trucks way. From my...

    DTCs P0299, P245B, and/or P2D2F- what’s going on

Wow, P0299 is for Turbo Under Boost, which will set the Service Electronic Throttle Control message, I fail to see how the EGR cooler would affect that, but since there was and active recall for that system it doesn't hurt. Now the P245B is related to low voltage in the EGR Cooler circuit which...

    Having nightmares about my ecodiesel

The P2047 code is indicative of an open circuit in the DEF Doser (Injector) circuit, that would lead me to look for an open circuit to the Doser module, this would also explain no response from DEF pump as that module also controls the DEF pump. So right now purchasing a DEF pump and hosing...

    2015 Ram 1500

"Service DEF System Immediately" is the highest level of warning for the DEF system. First; disconnect of the battery does nothing for the codes on this system. This message has to be cleared by dealer WiTech scan tool. Second; Your maintenance of the DEF Doser (Injector) is a great idea. But...

VM Motori, oil, map, and GDE tune MPG

The internal clearance point that the mechanic eluded to is the same thing I was trying to keep simple when I talked about internal friction. As an owner of both a VM Motorati and a Cummins 6.7L and a engine machine shop owner, built my own racing engines, I can address the internal clearance...

VM Motori, oil, map, and GDE tune MPG

Man I had to read this three of four times before I could formulate a response. First and foremost, 5w-40 is just as thick in Europe as it is in the U.S. Just because your bottle says HD Diesel oil in 5w-40 it is not "thicker" than an automotive oil of the same weight. The difference is the...

Ways to increase Fuel Economy ?

To short out a lot of discussion, the only legal way to increase mileage is an EPA Compliant tune. I use the Green Diesel Engineering EPA Compliant tune. Most recent trip netted 25mpg at 75mph on cruise control. 3.92 ratio posi trak, E rated LT tires, on winter diesel. Warranty, this tune comes...

    P026C again

Well you are on the right path. the DTC P026C is stated as Fuel Injector quantity lower than expected. Basically not enough diesel fuel flowing through the injector. Yes this can be related to the HPFP not supplying sufficient pressure, which could also set a Low Fuel Rail Pressure code. A quick...

Anyone with good reports of an EcoDiesel?

My 2014 now has 179K miles and I love the truck. Yes the towing caused me headaches with the increase in engine temp, tried a couple of methods to lower temp, ultimate was getting a RAM 2500 to tow with. I do not like or agree with RAM lack of parts inventory, this has been an issue with all...

Coolant Leak in Back of engine.

With my turbo coolant line leak I only had antifreeze down the back of the block, over the transmission, on the ground, along the frame, spray on tailgate. I was loosing a half gallon every 47 miles. Never did I experience coolant inside cabin on floor board. The turbo coolant line leak I had...

Coolant Leak in Back of engine.

Frank you more than likely have a heater core leak. I know of no conditions that would not indicate a leak under pressure on our trucks other than the coolant tank was not full during the test Good Luck.
