yes but not for a delete kit so no intake fire no leaking EGR no sensor lights just a good Diesel truck you can depend on

To All ED owners Keep your DEF and Fuel tank full when convenient , in long term ownership it will pay off...
I can see the fuel tank (less chance of condensation), but the DEF? What does keeping it full prevent?

The DEF tank has a membrane inside. If it dries out the tank is toast

1st Diesel Truck- 2015 Tradesman ED. Had 55k on it when I bought, owner gave me all paperwork and nothing but routine maintenance (that he disclosed). Only issue I had was the turbo lag when cold, maybe 3 times. Had no idea of issues until I got recall notice one month after purchasing, no parts available but after 2 week wait they called and I had that done. Re-flashed and EGR Cooler replaced. Hauled my boat to Oregon to fish with my son, about 800 mi RT, no issues but got about 6 mpg less than I got before reflashed ECM. Bought the truck for $18k, which I thought was a steal, but now I'm fearing I would have been better off getting a used Ford F-250 Powerstroke instead. But, really love the truck... If it lasts...

Julian I copied this from another thread.
IMO best thing to do to get the 2014 thru 2020 gen 2 ED in the 4th gen body to live its full life, aside from normal oil & Mopar fuel filter changes is to get a basic aftermarket tune. One that turns off EGR to get your engine running clean mostly by eliminating re-ingesting clogging soot & diesel asphaltene hard particles. Plus better fuel economy more power and options including an engine brake. Such as this link; https://hddieselsupply.ca/i-3164307...ne-hand-held-device.html?ref=category:1334979

Eventually the EGR cooler will also start to leak. Hot exhaust still goes through the EGR cooler even when the EGR is turned off. Disappearing coolant from your degass tank aka overflow bottle will be the main confirmation of this. Cheaper simpler and more permanent than replacing an EGR cooler that you no longer need and that unnecessarily taxes the cooling system is a simple EGR cooler delete kit such as this link: https://noecodelete.com/product/no-eco-egr-delete-kit/

However I would not recommend doing the EGR cooler delete until post drivetrain warranty at least not if you don't yet have disappearing coolant. Theoretically the tune could be used to void warranty as well. Historically & practically speaking not so much.

I believe the EGR cooler leak is what caused the low coolant excessive heat pressure & steam that led to the head gasket failing on my first motor at 371,000. At the time I was towing a TT and didn't realize I was low on coolant. So keep an eye on the coolant level in your degass tank and don't let it below the seam. If you have to add coolant more than once to keep it at or above the seam you likely have an EGR cooler starting to leak. This is often missed as it leaks internally and what isn't steamed if it does that or evaporated comes out your tailpipes so there is no leak puddles to find. The 2nd motor is going strong at 292,000 towing TTs across the country daily. Buddy James has 340,000 on his ED doing the same. I believe you remove the root EGR problems that you can have an engine that lives a normal light duty diesel engine life. Even when regularly used to tow to the rated limits of your particular ED engine equipped vehicle.

The 3rd gen ED in the 5th gen body has both a largely revamped engine with 80 percent new parts and a completely redesigned emission system. The Gen 2 ED emissions system was an add on to an existing engine that was designed to work with European emissions systems. I wouldn't expect the new EDs with a from the ground up designed in & integrated emissions system to suffer the same ailments as the first one. FYI my truck now has 663,000 with the original transmission and I hope to keep working it to a million miles. Time will tell. Hope you enjoy your truck as much as I have mine.
Thanks a lot and super glad to know transmission last a million km and going.

Mine from Australia, 150k km, wk2 grand cherokee, replaced engine sump gasket and noisy fuel transfer pump under warranty at about 50k km. Alternator burnt at 85k km out of warranty, but jeep fixed free for good will. 140k left rear shock a little leak, replaced with bilsteins. Thats it.
Thanks every one . I read the whole thread and found only one turbo coolant feeder hose in the valley under intake manifold. That makes me less worry for that.
What do you guys think?

Sorry. Maybe i dont know how to use this forum. This reply is to Vern diesel's post that state 660k miles on origial transmission.
I think you know how to use it, but 660k miles is not a million and going! But he said he hopes to make it to a million.....

Thanwintun, Sorry missed your texts. The transmission had its first issue a simple solenoid failure at 695,000 miles. In past transmissions that was a cheap easy fix. Unfortunately this one has it built into a board for lack of better description. I was quoted $2,200 by a dealership. Beh I swapped in a low mileage salvage yard unit for $1,260 US. Truck now has 725,000 miles transmission working great.

I had the highest mileage ED motor with 371,000 before it pushed a head gasket due to low coolant from a leaking EGR cooler. (a US emissions part) With the replacement motor and an aftermarket tune we just do an EGR cooler delete since it’s not used with an aftermarket tune. Just removes the risk and any unnecessary heat being put into the cooling system.

354,000 miles on the replacement engine with the only issue being the reluctor ring. Which is now to be covered and or reimbursed by FCA. Buddy James just turned 385,000 on his 15 ED. (He is also a Commercial Travel trailer & boat Transporter.)

Lots of 200,000 mile EDs but the only 3 300k mile ED motors so far to my knowledge.

2014 107k The engine and engine cooling exhaust system emission control gas recirculation value which indicated that the cooler may crack allowing preheated vaporized coolant to enter the EGR system which may combust within the intake manifold and cause a fire. It did cause a fire and the result is what you see.
